The Truth About This Single Being "Enchanced",
By Nicole K. (Western Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: American Life / Die Another Day (Single) (Audio CD)
Love the songs, love the remixes but word of warning - the "enhanced" portion of the single is simple a link to join Madonna's official mailing list. This appears when you put the cd in a computer. Whoop-de-doo.

I live the American Dream......,
By Dance Music Lover (Reading, PA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: American Life / Die Another Day (Single) (Audio CD)
The first single from Madonna's upcoming American Life album may be causing controversy due to the state of the world right now, however, the song is yet another example of how Madonna continues to evolve and grow as an artist. It is no wonder she has continued to remain one of the most influential and popular musicians over the past 20 years. American Life may take a few listens to digest, not as commercially friendly as "Music" or "Frozen", but once it takes hold of you it sucks you in. It is equal parts electronic and acoustic. Madonna again works with Mirwais who co-wrote and produced most of 2000's Music album. This time the lead single is more influenced by 80's synth sounds. The song has a thumping electric bass line that sounds like a heavier version of early 80's dance and also sounds influenced by the new style in dance music called "electro-clash." Madonna's lyrics are very honest and autobiographical as she speaks from her own experiences how money and fame are not enough to make her happy. Her voice, although at times altered, sounds very strong on this track especially during the chorus when she is singing backed by only the acoustic guitar. In my opinion, this song is vocally and lyrically better than her 2000 hit single "Music". As a bonus there is an extended remix of her 2002 hit single "Die Another Day" by Victor Calderone and Mac Quayle that is better than the mixes that originally appeared on the maxi-single. If you are a Madonna fan or a fan of dance/electronic music, this single is a good choice.

Madonna's back,
By A Customer
This review is from: American Life / Die Another Day (Single) (Audio CD)
Madonna's back with another controversial video and I hope that unlike the past it does not eclipse the song or its message. This track is a blending of electronica and hip-hop and imparts a message about Madonna's realization regarding American values and pursuits. Who better to critique American life than one of the greatest living icon's of American pop culture. After a 20 year career playing with image and amassing fame and wealth beyond most American's dreams, Madonna is offering her insight into where true happiness comes from - or more to the point - where it does not come from. I highly recommend this single. It also features the Day Another Day James Bond Theme Song - which was a big hit in 2002.

Get Remixes CD & This One,
By Lee Qi (China) - See all my reviews
This review is from: American Life / Die Another Day (Single) (Audio CD)
I'm not gonna talk about this song,if you're a huge fan of madonna's just like me,then just buy this single.
As far as I know,AMERICAN LIFE(single) is released 4 versions(more?),the other 3 are: REMIXES CD:included 5 remixes+1 remix of DIE ANOTHER DAY,but no Radio Edit PART 1:Radio Edit+2 remixes(Missy Elliott+Peter Rauhofer's American Anthem Part1) PART 2(Blue):Radio Edit+2 remixes(Oakenfold Downtempo remix+Felix Da Housecat's Devin Dazzle Club mix) And you can find the 4 reimxes in PART 1 & PART 2 also available on the REMIXES CD. So the best way to own complete AMERICAN LIFE collection is get the REMIXES CD 'n this one, then you would get all the remixes and also the radio edit(though it's just little different from the album version),and plus a exclusive Remix of DIE ANOTHER DAY which you can't find on any other CDs. Don't waste money on the other two 3-trk-singles,thought there are just 2 tracks on this single, it's worth.

How Can You Say No?,
By James (Toronto) - See all my reviews
This review is from: American Life / Die Another Day (Single) (Audio CD)
It's such a small price for something so big. A Madonna collectable that may be hard to come by in the next few years. It contains the "edited" version of "American life" without the swearing which is a relief considering i have to change over to the next song every time i listen to the origional on the album. The it contains a "remix" of "Die Another Day" which to the best of my knowledge cannot be found on any other Madonna remix album. Don't just sit there and stare at the price, order it now and listen to it, enjoy it, and make it outsell any of her other singles considering it is doing rather horribly for a Madonna single.

Great CD Single for Madonna fans!,
By E. Torres "Elt" (Philadelphia, PA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: American Life / Die Another Day (Single) (Audio CD)
This is the CD Single of Madonna's "American Life". It features the [Radio Edit] of the song where the explicit lyrics are deleted. The track clocks in at 4:28, compared to the 4:57 album version. As a bonus, "Die Another Day" [Calderone & Quayle Afterlife Mix] is included on this CD Single. The 8:52 minute mix is not available on the "Die Another Day" CD Single, and as far as I know, is not to be found on any other CD than this one. If anything, this track is worth the small price. In addition to this CD Single, Madonna fans should also buy the "American Life" Rmxs MAXI Single. It features 5 versions of "American Life", none of which are the [Radio Edit], as well as another bonus track "Die Another Day" [Richard Humpty Vission Electrofield Mix]! Keep building up your Madonna collections!

Antipop,
By
This review is from: American Life / Die Another Day (Single) (Audio CD)
What has made Madonna the biggest female superstar has becomethe subject of her anti feelings in these latest song - materialism and pop. This song is not the usual Madonna lead-off title from a new album. It's slightly less radio friendly and not so pop-sounding. Instead, it moves from 2000's #1 Music to more unstructured sound laced with electronic ducks and funky beats. The song alternates between a funky verse and an acoustic chorus.Unfortunately, pop radio has decided to give this song a miss, rather unbelievable but expected this time round. For those who think it's anti-Bush and war-related, forget it. The song merely reflects Madonna's more than often misunderstood state of mind. It talks of how she has moved so far up that she's lost track of what she was doing all that for. Critics call this song a dud, but they fail to realize the parody within the song. Madonna was slammed for her in-your-face rapping, with some calling it souless but they didnt realize that Madonna was really parodying the oh-so-popular rap culture in the US which virtually dominates the chart! You can say wat u want but Madonna is still Madonna and the critics have never been able to bring her down. A slight disappointment would be that the fab video was not put on the enhanced section since Madonna pulled the video which was a sahme. It really deserved some airing on TV!

This song is very good. I'm glad that is has a little rap in the song. I love how she did her (second) music video because of the flags in the background.

I respect Madonna for the fact that she has the balls to release something you dont hear from any other mainstream artist. Only Madonna can bring to the forefront such a brilliant piece of art. The song is excellent. Excellent electro-clashy beats!! Thank you again Madonna!! The Die Another Day remix is a very very hot thumping club track which hasnt been released till now. The best remix of the song finally sees the light!!
