4.0 out of 5 stars Just what I wanted
After reviewing several distributors of 50ft rope lighting, this was what I wanted at a good price. The wiring is parallel, so one failed lamp does not black out the downstream lamps. (In fact, it survived one poorly aimed hammer blow with only 1 failed lamp.) The light is incandescent warm, not bothersome bright, but enough for accent lighting and navigation. We...

1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware
These lights had received high reviews; that is why I purchased them. They were fairly expensive, and I expected something with high quality. We strung two sets around the fencing on our deck. Although they all it up prior to installing them, both sets had segments that "went out" by the time we were finished. We tried jiggling them and rearranging them, to no avail...

We mounted it up on a trellis, where it is plenty of light for the dining table below (but I'd surround all 4 sides of the table). I looked at LCD lighting, but finally decided that it was too expensive.

5.0 out of 5 stars lights are bright, April 18, 2009
This review is from: American Lighting 018-0006 Rope Lighting Kit with Mounting Clips, Clear, 50-Foot (Tools & Home Improvement)
The lights are nice and bright. I like the look alot. My only complaint is the screws for the brackets, suck. So if you plan on buying these lights pick up some good screws from the hardware store to save yourself a major headache. Because the screws they send, strip before they get halfway into the wood, and you can't get them in or out. So, Good Lights, Crappy Screws.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good light rope product, September 7, 2009
The lights appear to be a quality product, with heavy duty plastic and power cords. Stringing them together was very easy. Have them installed outdoors hanging up around the patio for soft light and they do very well.

110'of lights are around the pool cage top. They work fine. The clips are too brittle for Florida, so I bought 1/2" clear flexible cable holders.

5.0 out of 5 stars 2' Rope Lights, September 15, 2008

I purchased these rope lights to provide "mood lighting" above the crown moulding on top of three kitchen cabinets. I can tell you these are of industrial quality, as the bulbs are housed in a thick platic tube with sealed "O"-ring endcaps -obviously waterproof for outdoor use. Good quality cord and plug as well. I put them all on a dimmer and provided the soft glow my wife and I were looking for. The arrived quickly, were well packaged, and included mounting clips and harware. To top it all off, what a great price for such outstanding quality!

Although they all it up prior to installing them, both sets had segments that "went out" by the time we were finished. We tried jiggling them and rearranging them, to no avail. It is hardly worth the trouble to take them all down and send them back, but two out of two bad strings doesn't seem like very good odds.

I bought 2-10 foot lengths. One end of one of the lengths was distorted but worked fine. So I mounted them to my cabinets. In less than three days the distorted one stopped working. I had already disposed of all the packaging they came in. I didn't care for this product and will have a problem buying from this company again.

4.0 out of 5 stars 6' Light String, September 7, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was looking for an alternative to a small lamp for a small room. I found this light string and decided to try it. It is quite bright, and sturdy, and doesnt get too warm even left on a long time. It was quick to ship here, and arrived undamaged. It would be better if it had an on/off switch somewhere, since you can only turn it on and off by unpluggin it, otherwise I m quite pleased with it.

I wanted to install lighting under the rail of my deck. This was an inexpensive way to make my deck look fantastic at night. I didn't use the plastic clamps to install; just used regular nails to hold it in place. For the price, this is a very good product that met my needs.
