3.0 out of 5 stars Phantom dimmer?, September 8, 2008

This product works as advertised, although some mornings when I go into the living room, I'll see that the light it's attached to has come on to the first dimness setting on its own. Not sure what causes it to do this; a small surge in the wiring or electrical blip perhaps? Some roach having fun at our expense? In any case, an electricity waste for sure when it does that.

1.0 out of 5 stars Noisy and Unresponsive, January 19, 2009

This unit did not work well, even in an ideal case. Instead of just touching my metal lamp, in order to get the unit to cycle through the power settings (on, dim, brighter, off) I had to unplug and replug my lamp cord. Even then, the unit buzzed loudly. I would stay away from this one.

This is exactly what I wanted -- too bad I live in an electrically sensitive house! Plugged it in and it worked well. Turned the lamp off and before I knew it, I had a dimmer gone berserk. It went on & off & on again at will. I couldn't control it. Passed it on to a relative in another city and he states it would occasionally turn off, but all in all worked well. I gave it an extremely low rating to alert folks that some things just are not under the products' control. I've experienced weird electrical issues with other gadgets and remotes also...Guess I live in an electrically charged area.
