American Mantle 2007 254 Soft Inverted Mantle

These mantles were inexpensive for a reason. They are of poor quality and put out little light. You get what you pay for. It is not the company's fault. They shipped it quickly and it arrived soon after the order.

I ordered the soft mantle and the ceramic base on one of the mantels was broken. I called and emailed the company
(American Mantle Company)and over 20 days have passed with no response. While this is not an expensive item, it is one that I need. Not good customer service or follow-up.

Manteles for outdoor gas lights are not as available as in years gone by.
Have found that a Coleman Camping Lantern mantles will work, but only for a very short while. Less than 2 weeks if there is strong wind.

Built in ceramic ring installation and special designed thick mantel fabric are well worth service life. Mostly measured in years!

American Mantel price is slightly higher than original manufacture distributer price, but makes up for higher price with more reasonable shipping charge.

Good product.

This product is priced reasonably, and very easy to install since it has the ceramic rings attached. Very detailed directions on package how to replace existing mantles with new ones.

You must avoid hitting the Gas Lamp Pole with the lawnmower as that will break this mantle easily. Also don't hit the pole with your elbow or ladder or any object. This thing is very delicate. Otherwise, the light is fine and it will last for a few months. Next time I will get a hard mantle and see if that will stand up better.
