Product Description

This economy pizza stone is made of ceramic stone material. Baking stones are especially ideal for baking pizzas on because they distribute heat much more efficiently and evenly than metal. Metal tray or pan may burn the edges of a pizza while leaving the center cold, a pizza stone will cook the pizza evenly and thoroughly. Available in rectangular shape. Measures 12-inch length by 15-inch width.

This was my first time having a go at using a baking stone. It works very well, and is quite strong. When I ordered it, I did so because the ad said it was 12", so I thought it would fit my toaster oven's 12 by 11 inch interior. However, the seller neglected to complete the ad to show that it was actually 12" by 15". I learned this from the seller in an email response regarding product size a bit too late to cancel the order. When the stone arrived, I remembered a glass and stone breaking method I learned from a video on breaking stone pavers, so I cut a score in the stone, and was able to break it perfectly. Now it fits nicely inside my toaster broiler convection oven, and I must say it really makes the difference between baking a pizza on a tin, or foil, and baking on a stone which evens out the heat nicely to properly bake crusts without scorching them.

I didn't want to spend a lot on a pizza stone as they can be quite expensive. I am a seasoned baker and carefully brought the stone to temperature, placed my pizza on the stone and when I opened the oven 10 min. later to get my pizza the stone was cracked in half. What a mess!! It wasn't worth my aggravation to return it so I chalked it up to a lesson not to buy on the cheap.

This arrived fine and was well packaged by Amazon. It has a small amount of bubble-wrap around the stone in its factory box but it only has a thin cardboard cover holding it so I am surprised they factory-package the item so simply; seems many could break. The corners are rounded so the corners of the rectangular stone-box were damaged; no problem. Perhaps that was intended to protect the corners from damage if dropped. The stone arrived fine. It fits in our RV Oven and dispurses the heat evenly, it seems. It is easy to install, use, and clean. Be sure to dry it completely before using it each time. If it cracks it really does not matter as many people use multiple tiles so that is essentially 'multiple cracks'. I did not chose tiles as I do not want a rattle with our travel, in fact it seems to reduce rattles. If it cracks it should make no difference as it is heavy and should stay in-place. Also, it is light in color, rough, and porous so do not worry about stains. It will stain. Be reasonable in your ecpectations and reviews.

I recommend this stone, especially for RV ovens.

Size one to your needs and leave some air space around it so you get some circulation of heat. The curved corners help. My oven is about 14" x 15 3/4". This is considered a large RV oven!

I bought two of these for a friend and I to stop burning biscuits in our RV ovens. It fits the oven perfectly. The biscuit bottoms are not burnt as bad now.

We purchase 2 of them, both broke, don't bother getting. The weight was good, the size could have been a little larger.

I assume that this was broken before it was mailed. The box did not appear to be even slightly dented or even dropped but the pizza stone was broken in at least three different pieces. I was so disappointed. It came with the broken lady bug which was suppose to be a butterfly. What is going on at Amazon? After almost seven years of orders I get two broken things on the same week.

Bought this to put in our RV oven. Was the perfect size. I have been told this allows a much more even heat. Everything I have baked until now has burned. Stone cracked with the first use, right down the middle. Oven temperature had not even reached 250 degrees. Used the stone below a pan of brownies. They didn't burn! Will continue to use the stone in its broken state. There are other models that some in sets of 4 or 6 stones that could be placed to cover the same area. They might be a wiser choice. Don't think that I would chose unglazed floor tiles as others have suggested.
