THE AMERICAN ORCHESTRA is a sampler CD issued by PRO-ARTE that presents highlights of famous works, as interpreted by Entremont, Slatkin, Kunzel and others. This set includes a foldout booklet with reproductions of the relevant PRO-ARTE CDs, as well as brief comments on each. A fine program of music, and a convenient way to examine offerings from 17 quality albums.
(Note that track listings as shown on CD player readout do not match the compilation's printed titles-- the CD (and this page) have the correct lineup.
