Get it for the Schickele, if nothing else.,

I have not heard this yet, but the review in the American Record Guide (July/August'05, p.212) loved it for the Schickele concerto ("funny and touching"); some reservations for the rest. As Amazon no longer sees fit to list the contents, they are: Schickele: Clarinet Concerto; Barber: Knoxville; Daughtery: Tell My Fortune; Noon: ProMusica Sempre. All but the Barber are commisions for the 25th anniversary of the Columbus-based ensemble.

Thank you to Amazon for having one copy of a Concerto I needed to hear for a Symphony Concert pending October 27th,2007. I had heard snippets of it on line and it got me excited to know that there was to be so much trombone in this Concerto so I needed to get a handle on it immmediately. I listened to each movement ( 4) before regarding my music and then I held the music and played it again and again. It is a great composition , full of joy and tranquility and fun. It will be most delightful to be playing trombone knowing that clarinets , trumpets and horns will be having counterpoint dixie land rhythms to mine. Thanks for being there when I needed you. For those purchasing this CD, there are other compositions on it which I am anticipating hearing after my concert so the price is right for all the inclusiive music . Mollie
