Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

"Kerry Patton's lovely children's book allows kids to understand that patriotism transcends political labels--a message I wish more adults would try to disseminate. The illustrations are stunning. Knowing they were done by a 16 year old is mind blowing, what a talent!"
Lisa Ling. TV Personality/Oprah Winfrey Network

"A refreshing, simple-to-understand book with insightful illustrations for the youth of America who can use its thoughtful messages to be 'patriots' in their own lives each and every day."
Joe Peters. Radio Show Host-Tough Talk With Joe Peters

Excellent piece of work! I purchased four of these, two my my niece and nephews, one for my daughter who is 5 and donated 1 to her kindergarten class for this year. This book is a great introduction to America's heritage and why this country remains free. With my husband serving his third tour in Afghanistan and me continuing on in the national guard, we remind our children daily of the sacrifices we make to allow this country to remain free. I highly recommend this book as a reminder for all adults as to where we all came from and how we must continue to stay strong and carry on the values which made this country what it is today!

"THIS IS A-POLITICAL! This book offers the reader the opportunity to consciously decide who they want to be. What does it mean to be an American? Read this to your children and awaken their sense of self.

Provide them the opportunity to understand how to interpret some of the key definitions and premises within the book, in a manner which develops compassion, non-judgment and embraces diversity. After all, we are all different and it's only through dialogue we can truly understand, gain power through removing fear, and embrace the opportunity, which knowledge brings us.

Leadership begins, by leading yourself! Empower your child to do just that.
And, when you do, you will be leading our next generation of American's, to lead themselves, so that they may lead others - where they want them to go!

American Patriotism is a book for children and a lesson for adults!
