i am a published poet, and i hold an mfa in the art as well. what placed me on this path? mmetaphysical poetry.

this video is a wonderful introduction to metaphysical poetry. it covers the basics, and more. and a purchase would be a good investment. (i am now going to buy the whole series)

My daughter and I watched this video, and found the actors to be a distraction from the poetry. Some of the poems were read so slowly, that we became bored. Also, for Poe, they chose an odd poem, which we don't think was one of his best. For younger views, parents may find some of Walt Whitman's poetry a bit too sensual.

Poetry from Chaucer through post World War II is read by professional readers and actors in appropriate settings.

Hearing and seeing the professionals read poetry helped my understand and appreciate what the poet was trying to say and how he might have wanted it said.

I've listened to some poems and some segments multiple times.

While I enjoy the series, my rating is four start because it could have been better.
