3.0 out of 5 stars I feel like the I could have gotten a better deal at a flea market
Its a giant piece of twist-able, easy to break (in the thin areas) plastic. While it looks like a big bright joy of playful dress up in front of a mirror, it will take a GIANT imagination to actually enjoy it.

Santa brought this for my almost 4 year old daughter for Christmas. It comes in a ton of pieces and takes about 2 hour's to put together. The pieces are all pretty flimsy plastic but when put together it hold's up fairly well. The plastic part around the mirror was a little warpped but look's O.K. when put together. Our's was missing 5 screw's so make sure you have enought when you start putting it together. We bought a few at a hardware store and it worked out fine. The drawers fall out pretty eaisly when you pull them, nouthing stop's them from coming out all the way so we drilled a hole in the back and attached a piece of rope like you do with the sprayer by the sink. It worked great. My daughter is in the 99% height for her age. She is 34 inches and fit's in this fine and has some room to grow. It came with a lot of accesories like comb's, fake blowdryer and hair clip's etc. It doesn't light up or make any noise but she loves it! I had looked at a lot of vanities and salon's and I didn't like the one's where you needed a key in order for them to make noise. This one looked like a better height also and it had drawers which some of them did not. I think a great buy for your money.

Its a giant piece of twist-able, easy to break (in the thin areas) plastic. While it looks like a big bright joy of playful dress up in front of a mirror, it will take a GIANT imagination to actually enjoy it.

1) Surprise discovery, open the box and you pull out sheets of plastic in which every piece of this set down to the fake lipstick and headbands has been fused together in a web of plastic. Like a model car or airplane, you have to bend, twist, or cut the pieces off the plastic holders. In doing so you may want to have a razor blade or a paring knife available to shave off the plastic left behind sticking out at connection point, as it will scratch you or your child. The lipstick was my concern, I don't want my daughter smearing fake lipstick on her face with a piece of plastic sticking out.

2) The inside border of the mirror (pink area) of my set was cracked and broke already. Nothing that disturbs the structural integrity of the play-set, but a good warning to myself when seen, that this set could snap easily. Delicate.

3) Some of the screw holes either didn't line up perfectly because the plastic was warped or slightly bent, or the holes were drilled into the plastic but the plastic shavings stayed in the hole. If you have a drill with a bit the length of a screwdriver you are in luck as most of the holes are close to an area of plastic that doesn't allow a drill to drill straight in. If not, a length screwdriver will have to do, but as stated above, the holes with plastics shavings still inside makes it a difficult experience putting together.

4) Top of mirror warped, at an angle my daughter looks like she is in a fun house full of goofy mirrors at a carnival. Although, she did laugh at it.

5) Drawers have a short slide out before they are on the floor. As the earlier review stated a roped drilled into the drawer is necessary to keep it in.

6) Accessories are very boring, I plan to replace each and every one with something better. Seller's description of "working switch" on blow dryer means the switch moves, like a gun trigger. No noises, no pictures, no smells, no interaction. Just some hollow plastic bottles, that you can easily look inside of with 4 decorative stickers.

7) If it didnt take me hours to put this together and my daughter wouldn't throw a fit when its gone, I'd gladly take it apart and return it. But it will have to make do until next year....if it lasts that long.

Seriously. Could there be more crappy little pieces to this plastic heap of junk??? The end result is that my kiddos love it and play with it daily. But it's garbage and it took me hours on Christmas Eve to put together. Not only are there a zillion pieces, you have to punch them out of the mold that has sharp edges that cut me often. The drawers fall out every time the girls open them and the chair wobbles. But, again, they LOVE it. I got them the Melissa & Doug stylist costumes and those have much better dryers and accessories so I threw the ones that came with this toy out. Junk but fun junk.

I just bought this for my 3 year old's birthday. She loves it. My five year old plays with it too. My only complaint is that it comes with a lot of pieces that have to be cut apart and assembled. Its not hard work, but time consuming.

Grandpa spent close to 2hrs putting this together on Christmas morning for my 3yr old. It has many, many pieces that you have to cut apart before you can assemble them. There are also many screws that you need a drill and extension bit for to fit into the holes. It was quite an ordeal to assemble. BUT for the price - it might be worth it. I compared the many other types of vanities out there and felt this was the best buy....just comes will a heafty work load :)

The ONLY reason why this didn't rate a 1 star is that our daughters actually do play with it...

Cheap.

Its one of the cheapest play toys that we own!!! We were very excited to find a "Made in the USA" toy that we should have done more research. The asking price on this toy is a J O K E! It looks like it costs about $10 due to very poor quality.

First off, like the other reviewers stated, it comes in a thousand different pieces that you have to twist, cut, pull out of plastic molds. It took FOREVER to get them out before even constructing this toy...The horrible part (besides our hands being shreaded alive) is that there are JAGGGED EDGES that you have to cut or shave off so the kids won't hurt themselves playing with the accessories! Seems like a LOT of money to spend for cheap garbage!

Our directions were wrong. Its a VERY good thing that my husband is handy and has put together kids toys before, because the screws did NOT line up all the time and the instructions were about as vague as you can get - especially when the plastic is mislabeled! We also had problems with getting the screws in even with a drill! So LOTS of effort for a pretty cheaply made toy.

The accessories are not only poorly made, but easly breakable! We already lost a few headbands and hair clips...The four "bottles" that come with the salon are pretty vague. I would have liked to see a "hairspray" or "shampoo" lable on them at a minimum!

Save your money and find another toy beauty salon because this one is just horrible!
