I began playing tournament table tennis in 1947, and followed the scores of classic players in the magazine, and occasionally saw some of them play in tournaments. this book added a lot to what I learned before about Ruth and Jimmy. I dropped out of competition when sponge rubber drastically changed the game in the 1960s, but came back to playing classic hardbat competition in 2005. Love this book and looking forward to more in the series that describe the classic players, Miles, Reisman, Schiff, Tybee, etc.
