Strong hold without the shine,
By A Customer
great product for the hair that has a hard time staying put. It gives you control but not the shine. Can sculpt your hair with it. Its white and feels like a paste. Your hand warms it up. Usually takes about a nickle size for regular hair length.

The best firm hold product for short hair!,
By Nathan Beauchamp "ConsumerAdvocate" (Oak Park, IL USA) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (TOP 50 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME) A little of this goes a long way, so start with less than you think you'll need and then use more if necessary. I apply this by putting some in my palms, and then rubbing them together, and then applying to my hair. I'll use a bit more on the front if necessary. American Crew makes a lot of other hair products too, but none of them work nearly as well as this one. I've tried the Pomade, and it's greasy and not very reliable. Fiber, at least for me, is the only option. Aside from being a tad sticky, this is a perfect hair product. Recommended! (If you want a less sticky but equally less firm option, check this stuff out: Alterna - Enzymetherapy Hemp Seed Styling Mud 2 oz.. It's pretty good, but just not quite firm enough for my taste).

Long Time User, Still Pleased,
By My hair is usually a fuzz ball when short and flat & lame when long. This product lets me give my hair some more character; I can rustle it up or calm it down whenever during the day. The great thing is that people don't realize I'm using a product until they touch my hair. Another cool thing about this product is that you can use it in our hair with varying wetnesses. If you're hair is damp when you apply, it's easier to apply but the hold will be a looser one throughout the day. I need a strong hold so i usually put it in when my hair is only very slightly damp. (Applying when your hair is completely dry is a little tough because it sticks to your hair and while you apply, its like you're pulling on your hair and it can hurt) On suggestion is to make sure its completely integrated into the hair. Especially when you use this product with damp hair, it takes some attention to make sure there aren't little chunks of American Crew Fiber siting in your hair.

Finally a product I LOVE!,

I have always been a fan of styling my hair. I see celebrities on TV and in magazines and where ever and think "Wow, how do they get such good looking, naturally styled hair?" Over the years, I have toyed with many products, but have always ended up turned off and disappointed by many things, like the amount of time it took to get my hair in the shape I want (sometimes I wasn't even able to get that and ended up washing it off!), the amount of shine leftover, and the overall texture. Needless to say, I pretty much gave up on trying to have great looking, styled hair. Recently, I was doing some cleaning of bathroom products I don't use anymore and stumbled upon this product. I had never tried it before, let alone I had no idea that I even had it. Out of curiosity, I decided to put a dime size amount into my hair, mainly because, for lack of a better excuse, I was bored and just felt like doing it. Oh my goodness was I pleasantly surprised. It was so easy to get my hair into a style I could bare to look at, and there was absolutely no shine. The texture was unlike anything I had felt with hair styling products before. You could barely tell that there was anything in there at all! I used it a few more times, and the more I used it, the more I fell in love with this product. It works perfectly with my thick hair, and the smell isn't half bad! Basically, if you like styling your hair, and you're at a loss for products to use, I URGE you to at least try Crew Fiber. Take it from me, I am the most meticulous person you will meet when it comes to my hair, and I absolutely love this product. 10 seconds and my hair looks fantastic. As I'm sure yours will too.

Great product with minor drawbacks.,

I used this product for quite a while and on occasion I still break out a jar to style my hair if I feel like mixing things up a bit. It's great for matte hairstyles and will work on hair whether it's thick or thin. There are only two things that I've found can be issues with this product. First, it's not as hard a hold as the product advertizes. It's supposed to be the highest hold in the low shine line up, but I've found it no harder holding than it's medium hold counterpart, Defining Paste. Secondly, my hair can get dry at times during the winter here in Arizona. When this happens my hair gets more frizzy and the Fiber doesn't do enough to control the frizz so I have to switch products when my hair is feeling particularly dry. This isn't too often, though, and it's only my hair so your mileage can definitely vary.Overall, it's a great product. I don't use it every day, but I don't use any product every day because I like to mix it up. But most of what I use is American Crew or D:Fi which is made by American Crew anyway, and Fiber is one of my favorites. Give it a try if you want a matte look, it may not be as high holding as it leads you to believe, but it is by far the most matte looking of the products in the lineup.

just started using crew fiber, and i have to say it's pretty awesome. i used to use the gatsby moving rubber but got tired of it so decided to switch to this. sculpting hair is extremely easy, and it holds well. whether it's a typical day at work, or a friday night in the clubs this stuff stays in and keeps your hair looking good. it isn't hard to wash out either, and doesn't have any strong smell.my hair is medium length, and i think any length from short to medium would be ideal. not sure about longer hair. highly recommended.

dry hands, towel dry hair -> no more helmet head,

I bike to work every day & suffer from vertical depressed lines where the helmet padding meets my head. Until yesterday. I had had a tub of AC Fiber for a couple years but never had much luck with it, but decided to try it again after my barber recommended it.The trick (for me) has been to completely dry my hands before getting the product out. When my hands were wet, it tended to stay in globs and not go on evenly. With dry hands, and mostly dry hair, it works great. I can get to work, fluff out the helmet head, and it looks like I didn't bike to work. |
