5.0 out of 5 stars great but needs just the right hair moisture
I've used 2 containers and this stuff is great. I have very thick hair so I needed something strong but didn't want the pine straw hard feel that so many other products left me with. As my title says though, you have to learn to get the wetness of your hair just right before applying this stuff as it CAN get too hard if your hair is too wet. If it's too dry, it won't...

3.0 out of 5 stars The Incredible Shrink
I realize the product description clearly states that it is 3 oz however it is odd that CREW makes this product in both a 3 oz and a 3.53 oz and that both are in the same size container. Make sure if you are price shopping that you realize which one you are buying. Other than this simple mistake, this product still provides me the best style of a medium hold with a...

If it's too dry, it won't hold like some guys want their hair. I've gotten to the point where after I shower, I'll towel dry my hair then get dressed and THEN apply the product as letting the hair air dry just a bit more after towel drying seems to let a little more moisture out of the hair and really gets the "just right" matte look. I've tried several other products and this one is hands down the best for the money and is easy to find.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strong hold without the shine, May 22, 2004
By A Customer
great product for the hair that has a hard time staying put. It gives you control but not the shine. Can sculpt your hair with it. Its white and feels like a paste. Your hand warms it up. Usually takes about a nickle size for regular hair length.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent hold and no gloss, January 13, 2006
I am a big fan of this product. My hair is very strong. It needs a product which can keep it tamed. However, most products that have that level of strength also come with high sheen or gloss which, in my opinion, is a bad look for today's fashions. The matte look is more flexible. American Crew Fiber gives me pliability and a matte look with a very strong hold. It also smells nice.... not to strong and not too girly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Long Time User, Still Pleased, June 4, 2008

I have been using this product for about 2 years now. I think it's great. It has a sweet-ish lemony smell but more sophisticated. It gets the hold without the shine which I want.

My hair is usually a fuzz ball when short and flat & lame when long. This product lets me give my hair some more character; I can rustle it up or calm it down whenever during the day. The great thing is that people don't realize I'm using a product until they touch my hair.

Another cool thing about this product is that you can use it in our hair with varying wetnesses. If you're hair is damp when you apply, it's easier to apply but the hold will be a looser one throughout the day. I need a strong hold so i usually put it in when my hair is only very slightly damp. (Applying when your hair is completely dry is a little tough because it sticks to your hair and while you apply, its like you're pulling on your hair and it can hurt)

On suggestion is to make sure its completely integrated into the hair. Especially when you use this product with damp hair, it takes some attention to make sure there aren't little chunks of American Crew Fiber siting in your hair.

5.0 out of 5 stars Smells good, goes far., April 18, 2005
This is a great product for getting the bed head look. I can use approximately a dime size worth in my palms and go wild! Trust me, the results are great. If you apply too much, you're hair will get oily. The good thing is that this product washes out easily with any Shampoo.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best firm hold product for short hair!, October 19, 2009
I've used a LOT of different styling 'product' over the years. I have short, relatively thin hair that I like to spike a bit in the front. The problem I've had with most gels is that they do just fine for top of my head, but don't keep the bangs spiked up the way I'd like. I've tried a lot of different things before stumbling on American Crew Fiber. It's, in a word, perfect for my application! It's easy to apply, isn't too sticky, (although it is somewhat sticky which is necessary to make it work), looks great for the entire day, and washes out very easily at night.

A little of this goes a long way, so start with less than you think you'll need and then use more if necessary. I apply this by putting some in my palms, and then rubbing them together, and then applying to my hair. I'll use a bit more on the front if necessary.

American Crew makes a lot of other hair products too, but none of them work nearly as well as this one. I've tried the Pomade, and it's greasy and not very reliable. Fiber, at least for me, is the only option.

Aside from being a tad sticky, this is a perfect hair product. Recommended!

(If you want a less sticky but equally less firm option, check this stuff out: Alterna - Enzymetherapy Hemp Seed Styling Mud 2 oz.. It's pretty good, but just not quite firm enough for my taste).

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than Pomade!, June 18, 2009
This review is from: American Crew Fiber Pliable Molding Cream Hair Styling Creams (Misc.)
I've used American Crew's Pomade before and decided to try Fiber for a change. It holds my hair in place better, isn't shiny like the pomade, and smells better too. Slight issue with size of product (I received a 3 oz jar instead of 3.53 oz), but the folks at YourBestHairDay did an excellent job of responding quickly to my problem and providing an effective and timely remedy.

5.0 out of 5 stars really good hair product, January 6, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
just started using crew fiber, and i have to say it's pretty awesome. i used to use the gatsby moving rubber but got tired of it so decided to switch to this. sculpting hair is extremely easy, and it holds well. whether it's a typical day at work, or a friday night in the clubs this stuff stays in and keeps your hair looking good. it isn't hard to wash out either, and doesn't have any strong smell.

my hair is medium length, and i think any length from short to medium would be ideal. not sure about longer hair.

highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for hard to manage hair, April 21, 2011
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was blessed with hair from hell, in that it is wavy and has more cowlicks than I care for. Even when keeping my cuts very short, my hair is still very hard to manage. Hair sprays and gels are too shiny and rigid, pomades are usually too weak, and most products I have tried don't work too well, and/or leave a sickly sheen on my scalp. Yeck.

American Crew Fiber has all day hold, without excessive shine, little to no residue on the scalp, and still allows enough pliability that a girl can touch your hair without becoming disgusted with the amount of product in it. I came across it 10 years ago and thank God this stuff is still for sale! This is the only thing that works for me!

5.0 out of 5 stars dry hands, towel dry hair -> no more helmet head, April 20, 2011
I bike to work every day & suffer from vertical depressed lines where the helmet padding meets my head. Until yesterday. I had had a tub of AC Fiber for a couple years but never had much luck with it, but decided to try it again after my barber recommended it.

The trick (for me) has been to completely dry my hands before getting the product out. When my hands were wet, it tended to stay in globs and not go on evenly. With dry hands, and mostly dry hair, it works great. I can get to work, fluff out the helmet head, and it looks like I didn't bike to work.
