About the Author

Ewald W. Busse, M.D.,is President Emeritus of the North Carolina Institute of Medicine, and Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and Dean Emeritus of Medical and Allied Health Education at Duke University Medical Center. He is a member of the Academy of Sciences& mdash;Institute of Medicine and was director of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for 8 years.

Dan G. Blazer, M.D., M.P.H., Ph.D.,is J. P. Gibbons Professor of Psychiatry at Duke University School of Medicine. He is a Professor of Community and Family Medicine and Head of the University Council on Aging and Human Development at Duke. He also serves as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
