By Dave
17 minutes into "American psycho 2" I fell victim to crippling stomach pains which, quite frankly came as something of a relief. I persisted through the appalling dialogue and commentary, only finding occasional reprieve from the pain via William Shatners comical acting and random swearing. After 45 minutes I was wondering what kind of exceptional conspiracy or super bribery had allowed this film to be in any way affiliated with American psycho. At the films "conclusion" it became more than obvious that the director had screwed the pooch and would hopefully never work again. As the credits rolled by I found myself lying on the floor, hunched double in anger and agony.
My tests and examinations at the hospital revealed acute functional dyspepsia precipitated by the atrocious soundtrack. I feel one day, with careful tuition and support, I could rent a DVD again, but it sure won't be this kind of stomach bending, straight to video pap.

If you're looking for a movie just like American Psycho the original, you will probably be disappointed. The movie would probably be better appreciated if the movie had a completely different name.

I can understand the poor reviews and low ratings because these people were expecting a Horror movie. This is NOT one. That doesn't make it a bad movie though.

This movie is MEANT to be be funny sort of like the "Scream" series. The humor and twists and turns are VERY clever. You'll probably be surprised by a couple things by the end. Mila Kunis is very believable in this role.

The goofiness of William Shatner as the professor is intended and adds to the film.

1.0 out of 5 stars This is the film that made Patrick Bateman snap. April 4, 2007
A debate is raging between myself and a bank teller from across the street about the validity of watching sequels in either the sequential order of release date or in the way that they were semi-intended of viewing (i.e. the prequel to the "Exorcist" prior to the original version of the film ... and that sort of logic). I am a believer of watching the films as they are released, due to the possibility of missing an element that may be voiced or uncovered in future films, he feels differently due to true logic - meaning that there may be no continuity at all, so why put myself through the torture. An interesting thought, but one that I don't quite agree with due to the "American Psycho" theory. This argumentative other believes that you could watch "American Psycho 2" without seeing the original and consider it a viewable film, because you have to disassociate yourself from the original. I disagree for the exact reason that when you attach the title to another film, even if it has nothing to do with the original - you must associate the two. The two must match, gel, or even co-exist AND for me, it is an utter disgrace when the two just fight against each other. This is the battle known as "American Psycho II: All American Girl", and alas, I was caught in the trenches.

For those that are huge fans of the Christian Bale masterpiece should whole heartily avoid this film at all costs. There is nothing, I repeat, nothing connecting these two films together outside of a title and a slight beginning reference to a man that never should have existed in the first place - one elusive Patrick Bateman. From the beginning the story makes no sense, supposed serial killer Patrick Bateman kills again, leaving a small girl to finish what he started.

Um, where is it original? American Psycho 2 is an exceptionally bad sequel to the original movie, that one based on a novel, obviously this one not. It stars Jacky from That 70's Show (Mila Kunis) who spends her time trying to sound intelligent and insane in a movie whose script constantly tries to do the same, but always too hard. It supposedly picks up a while after the first film left off, with it's protagonist-- Patrick Bateman (originally played by Christian Bale), making his soon-to-be-famous final kill. In this film he is played by some faceless (or covered face, to be correct) actor in the most embarrassing stand-in since the guy who certainly wasn't Bela Lugosi in Plan 9 From Outer Space. Bateman's dinner guest decided to bring the girl she was supposed to be babysitting (Kunis) along for the ride and her presence becomes Patrick's end when she stabs him in the back with one of his own knives. From this point she goes on to college, kills a girl and steals her name, in an attempt to eventually get into the FBI so she can kill more bad guys one day. After a couple more killings on her way to her dreams she decides she might be nuts and goes to the worlds most intelligent shrink, who has figured out she is insane in one session with barely any dialogue (and not a single word that would give that strong of an impression). He calls her teacher ... and gives him news that one of his students is a little messed up in the head, but won't tell him who. ... I don't want to take the time to explain exactly how horrible each line of this script is and how improbable each plot development is, but I'll say William Shatner delivers the best line when he tells the shrink "don't give me any of your psycho babble bull****." Done.
