Considering this book was affiliated with The Nation magazine, perhaps one should not be surprised that none of the people profiled in this book were not pro-socialism/communism/welfare statism. There are many other "American Rebels" of the 19th and 20th centuries who also challenged the status quo, such as Lysander Spooner, Ayn Rand, Camille Paglia, Murray Rothbard, Ron Paul, Harry Browne, Alex Jones and others who also deserve our attention.
