I used this to make custom 3-line snakes from 1/4 patch cables-- it worked perfectly. Wear gloves when lacing the cables into it. The material it's made from is tough, but also tough on your fingers. It holds the bundle tightly together and the snakes coil well once assembled. The 1/2" size could hold maybe 5 x 1/4" patch cables so order your size accordingly.
