This review is from: American Revolutionaries and Founders of the Nation (Collective Biographies) (Library Binding)
I'm the co-author of "American Revolutionaries and Founders of the Nation."I wanted to share a few thoughts about the book. This is a collective biography that includes subjects not ordinarily covered in children's books. You can find dozens of books about George Washington, so he isn't included in our book. But we do have chapters devoted to Richard Henry Lee, George Mason, Roger Sherman, William Patterson, John Jay and Gouvenor Morris, as well as better known leaders like James Madison, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton. "American Revolutionaries and Founders of the Nation" is a valuable reference book for middle readers looking to do book reports or a great overview introduction to the time leading up to and following the American Revolution. This truly is a great book explaining how the United States was founded and the stories of the men involved. Our primary sources were original diaries, autobiographies, letters and other documents written by the subjects. We worked very hard to make complex concepts understandable for all reading levels. We hope you enjoy "American Revolutionaries and Founders of the Nation."
