We have found this particular map to be extremely helpful on trips. Our last one was several years old but wanted an updated version. You can't go wrong with this map put out by American over others published by different companies. This is the best!

I use a lot of different maps for travel. However, since I received the 2009 Road Atlas,,,I will no longer need any other map. It is absolutely the most complete and readable map I've ever owned. It is wonderful. The spiral binding is so easy to use, now there are no map sections down in the binding. Thank you so much for this awsome map.

Excellent map, nice large size, and it is great that it is spiral bound. You don't have to worry about folding or bending the pages. So far have not had a problem with it! Includes all essential sections, such as distance/time and gas mileage.

The atlas is great for road trips, but the insets don't have enough detail to substitute for a local map if you want to visit a big city.

This was purchased as a Christmas gift for my husband. He is totally delighted with it. He says it is the best atlas that he has ever owned and he is enjoying browsing in it now planning for good weather trips. Thank you for such a great product.

Very nice atlas, clear, easy to read, and no problem folding because of the spiral binding. Too bad there aren't a few blank pages to write in.

It's a pretty good road atlas, big, good coloration, it has all maps organized by state. All roads we wanted to take to cross the country were properly indicated. 2009 edition was fine for a trip in december 2010, and way cheaper.
Little con: sometimes the intersection you want to take is in a middle of a page (where the junction is), and you can't see it, but guessing is fairly easy.

Though we use a portable GPS for navigation, a road atlas is still useful on trips for seeing what's around, and for trip-planning. When our old road atlas wore out, we bought this one as a replacement. It's excellent. It's large enough to be useful in a car; it's well printed; and the spiral binding and sturdy covers promise good durability.

I bought this map because I was finding that my 10 year old map was missing many newer, large roads. Throughout a cross-country trip, in 2009, I found many errors in this map. While in AR, I missed an entire new section of a state route that looked like it was completed years ago and lost about an hour drive time. I guess I was reading the map more than the unexpected road signs, but one buys new maps to be up to date and this one messed me up a little a few times. Other than the mistakes, the maps were clear and had details missing from most maps, like smaller roads.

The spiral binding on this map made it really easy to use in the van to navigate our way all over New England.
