This review is from: The American Scene on Paper: Prints and Drawings from the Schoen Collection (Hardcover)
"The American Scene" is a top notch anthology of early and mid twentieth century printmakers and their fabulous prints. Representative works from one hundred fifty three printmakers and brief biographies are featured in full color and clear text. The illustrations are big enough to observe details. This is an excellent buy for those interested in intaglio prints, block prints, lithographs and silkscreens from the twenties, the WPA and pre WWII era. An absolutely beautiful book and a must have for all printmakers interested in the history of their profession! Great as well for art history scholars and print collectors. This is the best book on this topic that I have been able to find.
