5.0 out of 5 stars Great stories from some of the modern masters., April 10, 2011

This review is from: American Screenwriters / the Insider's Look at the Art, the Craft, and the Business of Writing Movies (Paperback)
This is a collection of stories about how some of the great modern screenwriters got started, why they write, how they write, and what they find wonderful and terrible about screenwriting. It is very interesting to read how even big-name screenwriters find it difficult to sit down and start writing, finish writing, or decide if what they've written is any good. This was more motivational than any of the how-to books I read when I was at UCLA, because it shows you that what you're feeling is what every screenwriter feels--and that helps give you the strength to keep typing. I highly recommend it. Additionally, watch "Tales from the Script," which is a great documentary along the same lines as this book.
