Excellent Key,

This review is from: North American Species of Cuterebra, the Rabbit and Rodent Bot Flies: Diptera, Cuterebredae (Thomas Say Foundation) (Hardcover)
This volume provides a comprehensive treatment of the rodent and rabbit bot flies of North America. It is a highly technical book that is best suited to serious students of entomology. There is a wealth of information provided about the taxonomic history of this group and the entomologists that have worked on them over the years. It's actually pretty interesting reading if you're into that sort of thing.
The keys are straight forward and easy to use (assuming you have basic knowledge of fly morphology). The range maps are likely a bit dated but still give the reader a good overall view of where these species occur. In general, a great reference book for those people with basic insect identification skills. I highly recommend it.

This review is from: North American Species of Cuterebra, the Rabbit and Rodent Bot Flies: Diptera, Cuterebredae (Thomas Say Foundation) (Hardcover)
This book was written for entomologists. The keys are useful, but the writing is tedious. I was disappointed that there were not photos and drawings of the various life stages of the species of bots. This is an excellent book if you are looking for keys to identification and information on the distribution of the Cuterebra species. It is not a good book if you are interested in learning about the behavior and other life characteristics of the species.
