H2Option Dual-Flush System

Save water without sacrificing performance with American Standard’s H2Option toilet, featuring patent-pending siphonic action technology that uses less water, eliminates more bulk, and is quiet. Controlled by a dual-flush actuator on the top of the tank, the H2Option system features a 1-gallon-per-flush “light” flush for liquids and a 1.6 gpf “heavy” flush for solids. The dual flush allows the H2Option to use an average of 25 percent less water than a conventional 1.6 gpf single-flush toilet. Additionally, H2Options’s powerful siphonic action technology led to it receiving the highest MaP (Maximum Performance) rating, handling 1,000 grams of solid waste in a single “heavy” flush while the “light” flush received an impressive 400 gram rating. This means you can count on your H2Option toilet for dependable one-flush performance.

PowerWash Rim

H2Option toilets feature a pressurized rim. Water is fed into the rim chamber from the tank, trapping air inside and thus pressurizing the chamber. The pressurized water is discharged from a series of specially configured rim holes to completely scour and power-wash the bowl.

Jet-Powered Siphon

In addition to water entering the bowl through the rim, water is also dispersed directly into the bowl through a bowl jet. With the jetted siphonic bowl of the H2Option system, the siphon is initiated with the push of the jet while the pull from the siphon evacuates the contents of the bowl. The siphon-jet action also allows the water level to be maintained throughout the entire flush, allowing for a cleaner bowl and flush.

Speed Connect

American Standard’s Speed Connect system on H2Options toilets is a user-friendly system that cuts installation time by 30 percent. It consists of pre-assembled and factory-installed bolts and grommets, which eliminates loose parts and reduces connection time.

EverClean Surface

Treated inside and out, this toilet features a permanent EverClean surface. This surface protects the toilet from mold, mildew, algae, and fungus that could cause deterioration or staining. You'll love how the mirror-like EverClean surface is easy to keep clean and stays cleaner longer, even after years of use.

I was blown away when I saw all the new things available on toilets when I went to replace an older one. This new one is quiet, uses hardly any water and seems able to suck down most anything! Most impressive. Amazon's price was great and I got free shipping on the thing...at about 97# this is worth considering. It came with a mountain of packing material in some large boxes and after paying my local Plumber $75 to install it, I was in business.
It really is amazing how quickly and quietly this things spirits things away. Now if we could only get a large enough one to fit our Congress into...sigh. Ah, to see them flushed with pride...

This toilet comes in 2 pieces with no toilet seat which is fine because I just got standard round ones from Home Depot. I ordered 3 toilets. 2 in bedrooms and one in a guest washroom which gets a lot of use.

They're performing wonderfully. There's not the problem I used to have where I'd have to flush twice to clear the bowl. Also, I know I'm saving a lot of water.

The toilets are pretty quiet and easy to use. I'm not worried about waking my neighbor when I flush like I used to with my other low-flow toilet. There's also no problem with water kicking back like I've heard with other toilets either. I've been using them for a little over a month and love them!

UPDATE: It's now been 3 years and I've never had to plunge any of my toilets. They still work wonderfully. Water doesn't fly out when you flush because it's works almost like a vacuum pulling the water instead of having water push through. This actually has 3 modes of flush. Push the two buttons together for a 0.9 gal flush, the left button for a 1 gal flush and the right button for a 1.6 gal flush (like a regular toilet.) My sister loves them so much she wants to get them for her home too.

Love this toilet. The 1.6 flush is a monster. The 1.0 Flush can handle small amounts of Toilet paper. I pooped a monster today with no clogs.

Had it over a week. old toilet clogged a lot. This one I dont think ill have any problems with.

Elongated and tall = win. I bought mine at home depot for cheaper.

I was in search of a dual flush toilet after several trips to Europe, I admire their use of products that save energy/water. I went on the research hunt, looking for good reviews and good value. This toilet had really good reviews on Home Depot's website and $206 is about $60 cheaper than can be found elsewhere.
I had the toilet installed during a bathroom remodel, so I didn't install it myself but my contractor didn't seem to have any problems. The toilet does not come with bolts or a toilet seat. When my toilet arrived, the blue plastic bolt for the flush button had broken off a bit but it did not seem to impact the flushing ability.
I bought a slow closing toilet see to avoid that slamming when the seat is put down. I love my new toilet! It's a bit smaller than the last one I had, in the sense that it takes up less room, which is nice. The flush is really rather quiet and quick. I have yet to even need to use the bigger flush, and I've had it for about a week. I have high hopes for the future of this toilet!

When a plumbing disaster compelled a bathroom redo, I initially balked at the idea of replacing the 25-year-old toilet: I want to conserve water, but not at the price of having to flush several times.

Then a relative suggested that I consider a dual-flush toilet. I researched the product in general, and decided that this one in particular was the way to go.

It has not disappointed me; I've been using it for a month, and it works perfectly. It's good to have options when it comes to water usage. Once my bank account recovers from the plumbing disaster, I'll consider more American Standard dual-flush toilets to replace the other inefficient models in my house.

The tank and bowl arrived separately, days apart. That was OK in itself but what was NOT OK, and was not specified in the "Product Details" section, was there was no "Tank To Bowl Coupling Kit" included so I had to go to Home Depot to purchase one. There was no seat either even though the picture on the web site shows it with one and just because "The Frequently Bought Together" section showed a seat does not necessarily mean it doesn't come with a seat. This should be pointed out somewhere on the page but it is not. The good news about the coupling kit is it only cost $5.00 at Home Depot whereas it cost $14.00 on Amazon. If this toilet were purchased at Home Depot it would come with the coupling kit, and seat, included... as well as instructions, which there were none to be found anywhere. I've installed a toilet before but for a first timer this might be a little daunting. I purchased the toilet from Amazon as a "package", not separate parts and, as such, it should have come with the coupling kit... or AT LEAST in the "Product Details" section point out that the purchaser must purchase additional items to what is being ordered. The "Product Description" also said it came with "2 color-matched bolt caps" and those were missing too.

One other point has to do with the bezel around the two push button switches on the tank lid. The bezel was split/cracked in one corner. It is chrome/metal and should hold up without replacing and since it would be such a hassle to have it replaced I decided to just leave it the way it is and live with it cracked. It's mostly a cosmetic condition from what I can tell anyway so it should be OK. If I had purchased this toilet at a store, like Home Depot, I could have taken the lid alone back and they would have exchanged it on the spot.
