Just bought my second unit. Have had the first one for over a year and the only problem
was caused by the fact that I had only replaced one unit in the house and, in the dead
of the night, the cheap old husband (me) would use the head that he had not put the Slow
Close on and, when done, give a push to the old "non slow closing" top. The resulting
loud "slamming" noise would result in a startled dog and wife, in that order. I was not a
popular fellow.

One reviewer wrote that his unit did not arrive with "bolts", they should... so make a call
if they are missing. Both of my units included the newer "quick" release (for cleaning and
replacement) bolts. If your old unit had the old style wing nut design you will be
impressed with this (fairly new to me) system. I won Brownie points with my dear wife for my
Herculean effort replacing the old seat. The old "non-auto-close" unit had the newer quick
release system in place, took me about 30 seconds to twist the attachments and wiggle the
old seat off. Took my sweet time cleaning off the area, putting on the new seat and
stalling before I returned, flexing my (lack of) muscles, to the amazed look on her face
that I did it so quickly (and well).

So: Very good quality, working well after a year, easy to clean, very quiet operation and
all parts are included that are required for installation.

Purchased this seat to go with our new American Standard Champion 4 Toilet. The seat that came with the toilet was very cheap. All I can say is Wow!, what a difference. Best seat I have ever owned. Wife loves the slow close feature. Also, seat is very comfortable. Definitely would recommend to anyone.

I purchased this seat on June 12, 2011 and the pin where the slow-closing has dislodged. As of tonight, the seat no longer closes properly and is unsafe for my family to use. This is pretty frustrating and I'm really surprised by the last of American Standard's QA. The item can't be returned to Amazon without paying a restocking fee (for a damaged product). WTF?

This is lame on both parts American Standard and Amazon's return policy with no flexibility. I'm buying the next one locally.

I was in the process of replacing my old wood painted toilet seats and wanted to check out this plastic toilet seat as they are easier to clean and finishes don't not wear and thus look dirty. I bought this from Amazon, LLC for $55 bucks, but then after checking out this product, I decided to order two more for my other bathrooms...well when I went back to Amazon I came across another vendor who was selling it through amazon for HALF the price!!!! I order two more through the seperate Amazon vendor and got the same quality product, and I recieved it within a week, not two weeks when I orderd from Amazon,LLC

I bought two Champion 4 toilets, both with matching seats in this same order. Fortunately for me, the one plumber knew how to install it. The second plumber who accompanied him and installed the white Champion 4 toilet/seat did not install properly so the flush was not good. So for anyone ordering this from Amazon, make sure you have an intelligent plumber for installation. I love both of my new toilets and the seats that came with them. The seats will lower slowly with just a slight push. They won't slam down on you! Toilets use very little water. But you will be cleaning them more often. Very happy with them both!

Hey American Standard- Would it be too much to include the darn bolts with the seat???
American cheapness is really starting to bug me.

The seat works fine except the center opening is not very wide...If you have a larger than average rump, this seat is NOT for you.

This is a nice toilet seat. If we had a round toilet I would have rated it higher. American Standard suggested this replacement seat for the Williamsburg toiled and it does NOT fit. It is too wide in the middle and is about 1.5" too short. The porcelain of the toiled bowl sticks out an inch+ under the seat out to the front. Not a good purchase for us.

this is a great toilet seat----yeah that's right! Very comfy and a snap to install. If you have a crappy seat get this one--you will be happy!
