There are no illustrations, headings are missing and the index does not match the text.

This is not the current version of this book, this is a public domain reprint of a 100 year old book. It is in essence xeroxed to cheap paper and shoddily bound. Avoid this copy at all costs.

Although the book has many basics, I was disappointed as it is all in black and white and when considering show quality birds it is important to see the colors and not all recognized verities are included in the book. Since I am considering specific for show and finding many not in the book it left me greatly disappointed. I had to be the hard cover edition selling for around $60 to get what I was looking for. So having this book is just a supplementary to the real MC Coy.

When I looked up the book, I was hoping to find a newer edition. I misread the description and thought it was a newer version but when the package shower up, a retro version was awaiting me! The pictures are not in color, I'm a spoiled Gen X, but all in all, it is accomplishing what we need. I'm still on the lookout for a present edition.
