4.0 out of 5 stars Careful
Before you take the dive, please note that the songs on this CD are NOT the original recordings! The good part, however, offsets that because, as most of these songs were originally instrumentals anyway, their reproductions sound almost identical. Plus, unlike some other TV theme CDs, these themes are longer versions, so you get more music for your buck. Buy this while...

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money
Do yourself a favor, and DON'T waste your money on this piece of junk. If you do, like I did, you will most likely be sadly disappointed. I was in a rush when ordering this, so I didn't look at the two reviews already here. Consequently, I ordered this thinking that these were the actual TV themes by the original artists. They aren't. They aren't even good covers of them. They're muzak, plain and simple -- no vocals, poor attempts to match instrumentation to the original, wrong tempos, and music added/removed by the conductor.

From the disc label:
"Conducted by Daniel Caine
Original Sound Recordings made by MICHAEL JONES PRODUCTIONS for SILVA SCREEN RECORDS LTD."

I've only listened to the tracks for the shows that I remember, but I can guess the rest are of the same quality. The A-Team is good up to the point where they add filler to extend the track, and The Incredible Hulk is very good (very true to the original). Unfortunately, Cheers, Midnight Caller, Night Court, Sledge Hammer!, Star Trek TNG, 21 Jump Street, and Twin Peaks are horrible. Fortunately, if you have the DVDs for those shows, you can quickly go and play the theme from the DVD to erase the horror from your memory. Unfortunately, Midnight Caller is still not released on DVD, so we have no such option for that track (and that's the one I purchased this for).

So -- if you don't remember the themes, or remember them only vaguely, you may enjoy this two-disc set. If you're hoping for the original themes, or even something close, then you'll be disappointed.

Buy this while you can, especially since the cover artwork itself teases to be a collector's item with the former Twin Towers looming in the backdrop.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brings back memories, February 26, 2006
This review is from: American Televisions Grea (Audio CD)
This is a great cd that relives those days in the 80s and 90s when US tv was so enjoyable. With theme tunes like MacGyver, Murder She Wrote, Baywatch and Falcon Crest, it brings back great memories. A must have!
