This may not be the best piece of luggage you will ever buy, but it is worth the price. I just used mine on an international trip and it came back a little beaten, but will be with me for many more trips!

I got this piece of luggage in April 2009 to travel regularly with. I'm a student studying abroad, so it gets used on an international round trip about every 4 months. Big plus is that it's light weight. When you have a 50 pound weight limit and are trying to stock up on stuff for 4 months, it's nice to have the allotted airline weight go into supplies and not the weight of the bag itself. My old american tourister suitcase made of plastic was demolished on my first trip abroad (plastic chipping away and now the wheels are no longer connected due to the plastic breaking), this bamboo one is still going strong after 5 round trips. Only downside is none of the stores around me carry this item anymore. I wanted to finally replace my old plastic one and have two of these bamboo ones but don't have time to wait for shipping. It also makes me feel better that it's friendlier to the environment. All bags are going to succumb to baggage handlers eventually and I liked that I wasn't going to be tossing tons of plastic away. Another good thing about this suitcase is the color... not many people have it, so in the sea of black and red suitcases on the baggage claim belts, this bag is easy to spot! Highly recommended!Update 10/2011 This bag, though lightweight and fabric that feels thin has survived 2+ years of travel back and forth between the US and Caribbean (~3 roundtrips per year). The fabric is starting to look a little worn but it's still going strong.

I just got the suitcase but I haven't used it yet. I gave it 4 stars because it looks a little light weight, and feels a bit thin. I had a much heavier suitcase than this one & it only took the airlines 4 flights to totally destroy it. I have doubts this one will last that long, but it cost a lot less, so it's less to lose. It looks nice & it is just as described & shown online. It's nice & large & looks like it will be as roomy as the one it's replacing.
