Editorial Reviews

The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway was one the USA’s most beloved railroads until its merger into the BNSF railway. The incredibly varied scenery that it passed through, as well as its sharp-looking locomotive fleet captivated not only railroad enthusiasts, but the general public as well.

Come along for the ride as this presentation shows you the Santa Fe from Chicago to Los Angeles. This footage was shot just prior to the merger, and you will see the modern AT&SF just as you remember it, with solid sets of "Warbonnet" locomotives painted in red and silver, as well as those in the older yellow and blue paint scheme.

You’ll also be treated to a variety of photo locations that showcase the varied and outstanding scenery that the railroad passed through.

Some of the places that you’ll visit include:

*Joliet Union Station
*Curtis Hill
*Abo Canyon
*Crozier Canyon
*Kingman Canyon
*Cajon Pass

All this and much, much more as you see the Santa Fe pass through Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California!

If you like mainline railroading, then this program is a must for your video library!

Approx 1 hour and 45 minutes.
DVD includes chapter menu, narration, stereo soundtrack.

I own many railroad DVDs and this is one of my favorites. It shows Santa Fe trains from Chicago to Los Angelas at different locations on the way. The year is 1995 before the merger with Burlington Northern railroad. It has great narration with information on what you are seeing at the locations. Many old Santa Fe stations are shown and the narrator explains what happen to some of them later after the merger. It is nice seeing the warbonnets in all their glory with GP60Ms, GP60Bs, B40-8Ws and others. If you liked the Santa Fe railroad this would be a great one for your collection.

Les Gareets narration is like listening to an old man speak and is very annoying. Buy PENTREX programs
