The album is wonderful as is the other Rick Rubin works with Johnny Cash. The sound is perfect, love the acoustics, the overall sound and Johnny's voice is just amazing. As with other American Recordings albums of Johnny - this is a must have.

A must have record if you are a Johnny Cash fan. No trademark Johnny Cash deep voice, it is apparent these songs were recorded in his last days. Only one song on the record is written by Johnny Cash, the rest are covers. However, once the Man in Black covers a song, it instantly becomes his. This album is a reflective look back at his life but also a spiritual looking forward for Johnny in his final days on this earth. In my opinion the first two tracks of the album (Ain't No Grave and Redemption Day) are worth the price of the entire album.

Classic Johnny Cash. Friend, if you're reading this review, you need to move on. This IS Johnny Cash. Sure, the record may not be 180 grams. I bought it and enjoy it. Will it warp? Maybe. But until then I am getting my moneys worth. I play it in the morning and at night when I am relaxing. I feel the older Johnny got, the more personal he was. Slowly, he revealed who he was. This being the last record, you can hear the fear/relaxation of death in the songs. Buy it and experience it for yourself....

This is a great album, and being one of Johnny Cash's last I am glad it was a vinyl record. I was happy with the cost, but they are getting more expensive as time goes by and harder to find....

This is the last new release of Johnny Cash songs. The album came well packaged. It sounds great and the title track will make your hair stand up, its that good. Anyone who likes Johnny Cash should buy this LP!

I ordered this (in vinyl). The first one was warped so badly that it skipped. I returned it and recieved a replacement that had several "divots" on side one that had severe clicks, and one caused skipping. Great music, really poor execution of the pressing.

This album is amazing as are all of the American Recording session of Johnny Cash but if you are looking for a 180 gram pressing this is NOT it. There is another seller in other buying options who has 180 gram pressings but the one Amazon is selling is NOT.
