1.0 out of 5 stars Typical Repetitive Cultist Information.
This book as all other Amway motivational books is full of the typical motivational cultist garbage you find in all of their motivational materials. A great read if you want to lose you mind and wallet.

This review is from: American Victory - The Real Story of Today's Amway (Paperback)
After reading so much negative material about Amway and almost being downtrodden by negative thinkers, I decided to pick up this book and see what it was all about. I was so pleasantly surprised that someone who was not actively involved with the company held such positive views that I had to check it out. This book helped me to realise that so many people just want to cut you down because they are not willing to pay the price for success. I have since begun building what is growing to be a substantial Amway business and I am forever grateful to Shad for writing this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best book on this business I have EVER read!, June 6, 1998
This review is from: American Victory - The Real Story of Today's Amway (Paperback)
In all my years in this business, I have read many books. None have affected me so profoundly, or given me the answers I have sought as directly, and accurately as this book. If you will read this book and APPLY the information in it's pages, you will succeed. Not only in this business, but in any endeavor you choose. Dr. Helmstetter, is not an Amway Distributor, he IS a world renowned psychologist who has spent many years observing and studying the people in this business. The people who would read this book and "slam" it are those who are uninformed about the business or closed-minded about it. Even those who say they are and have been distributors for "years". Those that would say the book was written "just to make money", I ask: In the final analysis, isn't EVERY book written with that end purpose in mind? To make a profit? If not, why have the book published in the first place? Get REAL! If you approach the book with an open mind, you will gain very valuable information about this phenomenal, 7 billion dollar plus a year business! It is a MUST READ for anyone who is in this business and WANTS to build it, or anyone who wants to REALLY KNOW what makes this business "tick".

If people would just take the time to get the FACTS on the Amway opportunity, their lives would be changed for the better. This book gives you the facts, not just someone else's opinion. I highly recommend it!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Book for Starters!, June 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: American Victory - The Real Story of Today's Amway (Paperback)
I have read this book several times and one thing that stands out most. This book gives great insight and information on how to build an Amway buisness at the beginners level and steps you need to fulfill your dreams. Although this book was written about Amway Corporation and what the business can do for you it is also filled with information to help people become successful in their personal lives as well. All in all I would say this book is a must read for all ages and anyone looking to get ahead in life, or just trying to make a little more income on the side.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good book for anyone in Network Marketing or any home based business., January 14, 2006
This review is from: American Victory - The Real Story of Today's Amway (Paperback)
This book by Shad Helmstetter certaintly does an excellent job of selling Amway and the Amway opportunity. I am not surprised to see that it made the book of the month club as well it should have. It should be in the book of the month club for all network marketing companies and all home based business opportunities and must reading for anyone who is in business.

What this book teaches are the habits of success. Via affirmations, author Shad Helmstetter conditions the qualities required to succeed like prospecting, avoiding a negative attitude, how to nadle negative people, using the tools, how to build you business and a special script on how to go diamond.

I'm not in Amway. By changing some of the words in the scripts, I was able to adapt Helmstetters scripts for my own network marketing program. They can just as easily be adapted for any business.

Since reading this book, I went out and bought Network of Champions and What To Say When You Talk To Yourself, two other books by Helmstetter with equally excellent results.

5.0 out of 5 stars absolutely perfect, March 29, 2000
This review is from: American Victory - The Real Story of Today's Amway (Paperback)
I think all books that speak positively and negatively about a subject is excellent. I rate this book well because I always loved the author's writing style. I also like knowing the author doesn't get any financial benefit from these review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent read for anyone., March 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: American Victory - The Real Story of Today's Amway (Paperback)
I was astounded at the wealth of information given in this book. Since reading this book, I've had the chance to meet the author. I would like to dispell one rumor. Shad is not affiliated with Amway in any way. Nor was he paid by Amway corp for this or any other review of their business. This book is a totally unsolicited view of the Amway business.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for the sincerely interested person, August 23, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: American Victory - The Real Story of Today's Amway (Paperback)
I am a realatively new distributor (upline double diamonds: Brig & Lita Hart). I had not heard much about Amway until I saw the opportunity in January of this year (98). Reading this book gave me some insight into why three million people have decided to become involved and why this business will continue to grow and grow. Since becoming involved I have come to understand that the great challenge of the business is not negative people (some people have made a hobby of critizing Amway)- these people will likely never accomplish anything! It is not "getting others to see it the way I do", but it is simply finding people who are willing to work, and who will take advantage of the motivational system described in this book. While the tapes, books, and seminars are a source of profit for the high-level distributors (most professionals demand money for their expertise whether it be speaker's fees, or profits from sales of books and tapes.) It is a tremendous tool for those of us who go out night after night to talk to people who are not interested, don't have time, read some disinformation on the net, or have a cousin who got stuck with a "garage full of soap" because he or she did not counsel upline, read books, listen to tapes, or attend seminars and rallies. This book helps put "the system" in perspective. The Amway success story is one of the unique quirks of the American free-enterprise story. By rights Amway should be a silly sideline business for fools, but as this books clearly shows because of the uncompromising integrity of the founders, and the dream and vision of a few distributors it is now doing over 7 billion dollars per year in over 90 countries around the world (physical plant operations in 45 countries). I'd say its critics are the ones who appear to be the fools- left behind, and further from the truth with each passing year. Read and ENJOY!

This is a great book for new distributors. This is a good introduction to new distributors as well as to give the a better understanding of Amway . For those who have misunderstood this concept previously should read this book and know that Amway is not about 'soap' but 'success' .
