Nice, compact scale. Easy to use, large digits on LCD display with backlight. Uses 2 common AAA batteries - cheap to replace. It actually measures with 0.01 lb(5 gramm) accuracy. Great for fishing or any other use. The hook gets tacked behind the case when not in use - easy to stash the scale in a pocket.

This is a nice small scale to carry around for weighing. It is advertised as a 11 lb scale accurate to 0.01 pounds -- but this is a bit misleading. There are two settings A) KG or kilograms which can be read to 0.005 KG or 5 grams and B) Pounds - ounces which reads only to the nearest ounce -- say 3 pounds 8 ounces and NEVER 3.50 pounds or NEVER 3.51 pounds.

To get something like 3.51 pounds, you have to weigh the object in KG and then you would take the 1.595 KG that you get and convert that to pounds by hand or a calculator. That way, you could eventually report a number like 3.51 pounds from the scale.

That negativity said, if you want a portable accurate small weighing scale, there is nothing else that I could find that is like this.

There are some platform scales that measure very small amounts including fractions of a gram, but these often don't go to a couple of kilograms at the high end of the weight capacity.

I have decided that even with the limitations and limited accuracy of product claims, I can use this small portable scale to accomplish my goal and am keeping it. I wanted to weigh things before I bought them because I backpack and want to avoid every ounce of extra weight. With this, I can avoid an extra 5 grams of weight - the limit of readout of the device set in the KG mode. I would be even happier if it could read to 0.001 KG or 1 gram.

Accuracy and consistency are well within acceptable tolerances for my needs. Outperforms other scales I've owned and only costs 1/2 as much - how can I complain? It's rated up to 44 pounds, but seems rather light weight in construction - I wonder if the retractable handle can actually support that much weight? It doesn't appear to be water-proof (and it's not advertised as such, so that's okay) so its use as a fish scale is questionable.
