The unusual design of this American Woods outdoor chair gives you all the comfort of a chaise longue with the soothing motion of a rocker. Stoutly constructed, the V-shaped supports let you trail a foot over the side to set yourself gliding back and forth. The chair is crafted from high-quality Western red cedar with three angles of recline for the seatback. The highest is a great reading angle, the middle is ideal for basking, and the last is nearly horizontal (though the chair doesn't glide when fully reclined). Slightly contoured to fit your body, the seatback and leg support allow plenty of room for stretching out, and the armrests are comfortable. With slightly darker pieces of cedar at its edges, the chaise has an attractively solid silhouette. Though it doesn't collapse for storage like metal or plastic models, the chair does come with a clear oil-based coat to resist aging and the elements. Assembly on this piece is reasonably easy and took us under an hour. --Emily Bedard

To maintain this finish, an oil based stain can be applied as necessary to help delay the weathering process.

Good value for the money,

We shopped this in many places and no one came close to this value. However, be prepared to have patience putting it together. It would help to have someone assisting. We ordered two and one box contained a damaged part. We called the manufacturer's 800 number directly and they said they would ship the part to us the next day, no questions asked or proof required. The only frustration we faced was not being able to get other pieces matching due to the fact that they are out of stock. You won't be disappointed with this purchase.

As far as assembly goes it's fairly easy, maybe an hour.Comfort is good as long as one puchases a decent cushion. I have one complaint, and that would be with design. The glide arms (metal) need to be about three to four inches longer to make for a smooth glide. As constructed the glide feature is very herky jerky. The overall wood finish is very good. If the lounge
was re-designed with longer glide arms, it would be an excellent purchase.

I bought two of these for the patio. One of the most comfortable chairs I have ever sat in. I hope they will last because they are not that cheap. They look durable though.
