Lightweight though sturdy, went together easily, and more comfortable than I expected. Much more. The only negative is the appearance of the hardware. Some thought to making it less obvious and more finished in appearance would have made these chairs nearly perfect. But it's not a major thing and they are comfortable and the wood looks nice.

Hope you are handy with power tools because you will need to drill new holes to assemble these chairs. The directions for assembly are out of date because the construction has changed since they were written. The pre-drilled holes do not match up with each other forcing you to drill new ones yourself. Expect to spend an hour assembling each chair.

I ordered two set of the American Woods Ceder Chairs and was a bit disappointed. The chairs are priced low and with free shipping and no "store hopping" I guess I am pleased with the product. The problems with the chairs where two-fold: one they arrived with dings and dents, one chair had a two inch end section completly torn off; second the oil stain on two of the chairs had spots and drip marks. Now I could have returned the items but decided to spend a few minutes sanding and glueing (the one chair was glued and clamped overnight) and my wife is very pleased with the end result. The chairs are comfortable (even without cushions) and seem pretty durable.
