5.0 out of 5 stars Superb Introduction to American Local Color Writing, March 28, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: American Local Color Writing, 1880-1920 (Penguin Classics) (Paperback)
If you are a newcomer to the genre, or teaching this area of American literature, you cannot do better than to read Valerie Rohy's elegant, informed introduction and enjoy the rich and varied selections choosen by Elizabeth Ammons and V.Rohy for this collection. Check out Mena's "The Vine Leaf," published nowhere else, as far as I know- an intriguing piece of fiction.
