The volume is enhanced by a substantial introduction by the editor, which looks both at the general "culture clash" between the United States and Europe and at adaptations and blending processes that seem to have occurred in individual countries. Alexander Stephan is Professor of German, Ohio Eminent Scholar, and Senior Fellow of the Mershon Center for International Security Studies at Ohio State University, where he directs a project on American culture and anti-Americanism in Europe and the world. It is an excellent book, but the title does not reflect the content: it is mostly on the americanization of Germany and not on the americanization of Europe! Just a suggestion: check the table of contents carefully.
