Book Description

July 15, 1999
A single-source, State-specific, code manual to assist the design professional, architect and builder to make buildings or facilities accessible to the disabled.

It utilizes text and full-page graphics to help clarify complicated and oftentimes confusing issues with the Americans with Disabilities Act code requirements for the State of California.

All applicable code books that have been adopted by the State of California are assembled in a user-friendly method to achieve a simplified approach to the understanding and implementation of accessibility codes.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

My intention with this book was to take out the time consuming and difficult task of gleaning information from hard to understand code books.

I concentrated on dividing a building, facility and its surrounding environment into as many distinct and separate parts as possible. I have put the scoping provisions in one area of the book and the details of a building, facility or surrounding environment into an individual Chapter format to accomplish an ease of use.

An improvement that I have made over other code books is that when I refer to a code number excerpt or Diagram located elsewhere in the book, I give the page number of the needed Chapter with its code number, or the exact page where the needed Diagram is located. I use newly drawn, full-page graphics that have inches side by side with their metric conversions.

This book also has a complete index.

I stay as current as possible with prospective code changes, thereby offering the most current code book possible.
