Finding a doctor for me was always easy, but the doctors I went to weren't the best my HMO offered. When a friend gave me the book (because I always complained about my doctor) I scheduled an appointment with doctor and immediately felt different.

America's Top Doctors is a great resource for finding the top specialists in the nation. From adolecent medicine to urology, the book covers every kind of specialist. It was informative when I needed to find a doctor who specializes in brain tumors when a loved one was diagnosed. The introduction is a little too long, but is informative.

I too am a doc who is in this...i have been in our local dallas magazine as well. My experiance is similar to another reviewer. They send you the notification and ask you to buy a very expensive plaque or take out incredibly expensive ad space. I too think anyone would be better served asking their physician for a recommendation or checking with the referral service at the local teaching institution.

I'm listed in this book and I am offended that after they list you they try to sell you their plaque (for a couple of hundred dollars) saying that you are listed as a best doctor. I suggest you go read a good book about the medical system like What your doctor won't (or can't) tell you. Purchasing this book is a waste of your time and money.
