Wonderful Medley, October 29, 2005
"Many cookbooks are meant only for the kitchen, others mainly for the armchair. This book is meant for both," writes the author(s). Although there is not a picture for each recipe, there are many pictures throughout the book and it is wonderful to peruse.
The book is divided into sections by culture. These sections include:
Asian
Italian
Mexican
Indian
Caribbean
Mediterranean & Middle Eastern
Cajun & Creole
There are 150 recipes and there are some of the ones which caught my eye:
Egg rolls
Thai Chicken Coconut Soup
Hot and Sour Soup
Vegetable Fried Rice
Sticky Rice With Mango
Banana Wontons
Chicken Stuffed with Smoked Mozzarella
Focaccia
Cannoli
Several types of salsa
Bunuelos (Churros-type recipe)
Turkey with Mole
Sopes (bean and cheese dish)
Two tortilla recipes
Spicy Oven-Baked Chicken
Vegetable Curry
Pooris (fried fluffy bread)
Potatoes with Yogurt Sauce
Curried Lentils and Vegetables
Callaloo Soup
Rum-Glazed Ribs
Caribbean Rice and Beans
Island-spiced Chocolate Cake
Coconut-Orange Tart
Tomato and Onion Salad
Classic Potato Latkes
Spanakopita (Spinach pie)
Baklava
Cajun Barbecued Shrimp
Corn Cakes
Carmelized Sweet Potatoes
Skillet Cornbread
Fried Green Tomatoes with Tarragon Sauce
Bananas Foster
There is also a glossary of ingredients and terms, but most of the ingredients used can be found in regular supermarket.
Hope this helps!

Delicious, February 15, 2007
This review is from: America's Ethnic Cuisines: 150 Best-Loved Recipes Plus 40 Menus (Better Homes & Gardens) (Hardcover)
This cookbook is one of the best that I have come across. It gives you plenty of choices from soups to desserts and from all over the world. The best part about it is that the recipes require generally about eight ingredients and have on average three steps. Compared to all the cookbooks that I have read this one is by far the simplest and the most delicious.

There are so many amazing recipes in this book - it will keep your taste buds on a roller coaster of spice blends from around the world.
