5.0 out of 5 stars America's certain financial decline--- in verifiable FACT and detail. A must read., November 19, 2007
This review is from: America's Financial Reckoning Day: How you can survive Americas monetary & political decline in the 21st Century (Paperback)
Having recently completed Mr. Coppes' excellent handling of precisely where America is heading financially (and otherwise to some degree), it is strongly suggested that completely irrespective of party affiliation, a sitdown session with this book is in order. The reader is wholly presented with a "fiscal revelation" you'll never, ever, hear on the 6:30 news or from any of the hopefuls for 2008. The stuff in this book is PRECISELY what the candidates should be head over heels to address, but expect not one twit from the Beltway that even touches on the extraordinatry slippery slope upon which we Americans, fiscally, both nationally AND internationally, find ourselves. It ain't pretty...

Well explained, in profuse historical detail, AND with replete references, you will learn what goes on behind the scenes of American economics, as well as in-depth detail on why (and because of whom) we have landed, economically, at the current precipice to which few refer, especially Wall Street. This no-nonsense exposition, written plainly for any reasonably intelligent American, patriotic layman will connect many of the dots referencing WHY the seemingly disjointed economic news we hear simply doesn't make much sense.

Oil--- a big-time player in current economic events, is especially well addressed. The author takes the reader back to western PA where the now-worldwide oil monster once began under the subsequent magic, as it were, of J.D. Rockefeller. Here's where much of today's oily issues once began; it's a history we all need to know IN ORDER TO understand today's economic events that so much center around world industrialization.

Chapters dealing with the European model for central banking, from where the Federal Reserve REALLY came, the global realignment of world power and planning/investing wisely in a transitory and uncertain world round out the gist of this excellent "documentary", really, on global economics that will certainly affect you and me.

Not for the faint of heart that wants the real truth, nor for a superficial reader; i.e., considerable detail. Your country, your money, your future.

JL

What a fantistic book! When I first started reading the book I started to think Mr. Coppes was an off the wall nut job but then his words and the power of his words drew me in deeper and deeper into his ideas. I am an easy-going, mellow, slow, low key Christian. I am a lazy Christian. Mr. Coppes is a very intense Christian who believes in fire and hell and Jesus might come again soon. He might be right. Jesus could come tomorrow or 1,000 years from now. I don't know and I am not concerned about when. I am concerned about now. I am concerned about paper money, government debt, trade, social security, medicare falling apart, crime, peak oil and my kids future. Mr. Coppes is a very, very smart cookie and knows a lot about these subjects I care about. Some readers might be put off by his intense Christianity. Don't be. Most people go buy books in which they know they agree with before they read it. Conservatives don't go buy liberal books, liberals don't go buy books by conservative writers. They want to read something that will support ideas that they already have. Challenge yourself and read Mr. Coppes book. It will make you think. It will challenge your ideas and give you tons of other references to check out. Most ecellent in a strange kind of way! Regards, Keith Renick, Peachtree City, Ga.

5.0 out of 5 stars What happened to all of our money?, October 5, 2007
This review is from: America's Financial Reckoning Day: How you can survive Americas monetary & political decline in the 21st Century (Paperback)
Having read this book a year ago, then again recently, Mr. Coppes has been amazingly accurate with the predictions he made regarding the finacial collapse of the USA. There is no way you can read this and not be prepared for what is to come. It's late, but still not too late to set yourself up to survive in what looks to be, well, for lack of a better description, a new world dis-order. He predicted the sub-prime/housing collapse. Order this book to find out what is coming next. It's right around the corner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reaping what we have sown, August 20, 2009

America's Financial Reckoning Day is to American economics what A Brief History of Time was to physics. It provides, in layman's terms, an explanation of who we are, how we got here (based on history, not emotion), and where we are most assuredly headed. This is not a book for dummies, but it is definitely readable for everyone who is interested and engaged. This writer has a way of turning a phrase, and that is saying a mouthful when the subject is economics. He somehow tricks you into reading one paragraph after another, and all of a sudden you feel, well, I'm going to say it: enlightened.
America's Financial Reckoning Day is an opportunity for the intelligent, inquisitive student of American politics and history to understand our place in the world. Mr. Coppes has clearly done his homework. I feel like I have been paying very close attention to political events for the past thirty years, but to my surprise, this book caused me to raise my eyebrows on almost every page. The actions and reactions of our economy and the economies of the other big players on the world money stage are described with names, dates, and times, easily verifiable and in detail. This book is not for people who can describe their philosophy on a bumper sticker. It is not for people who want to read an "I'm Okay, You're Okay" self help book to instant success in troubled times. This book is for the brave of heart; for the individual who is willing to be surprised and to change how they feel about ideas they have held dear, perhaps for decades. It is for those who know when the going gets tough, the tough are already locked and loaded. For others, for those who just want to stumble along and hope that tomorrow everything will be better; probably not the book for them.
If I had one prayer answered this week, I would ask God to make this required reading for high school seniors, two pages per day, for the entire school year. There would be no need for a test; the students who read it would be wide-eyed and already preparing for the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Reading for All Who Seek the Truth!, June 11, 2007
This review is from: America's Financial Reckoning Day: How you can survive Americas monetary & political decline in the 21st Century (Paperback)
I have read "America's Financial Reckoning Day" and I highly recommend it!In its pages, one can finally learn why our once great nation is now in such a noticable decline and how the nation destroying economic and monetary policies of a small group of powerful men controlling our government have brought about that decline! Mr Coppes does a superb job of showing that both our dollar and all dollar denominated investments are dangerously close to collapsing and provides specific alternative investment suggestions for those seeking to preserve their money! Most importantly, the author clearly spells out how all that is happening in the world today - above all, an organized move towards a totalitarian world government - is clearly predicted in Bible prophecy! What really sets this financial book apart from others is the GOOD news the author offers! After presenting much sobering economic information and a way to protect ones assets, Mr. Coppes provides the best news of all! He tells us clearly how we can have inner peace and hope for the future in spite of what may happen financially and... how we can each be spiritually prepared for the future! This alone is worth the price of the book!

5.0 out of 5 stars I Highly Recommend This Book, August 31, 2009

This review is from: America's Financial Reckoning Day: How you can survive Americas monetary & political decline in the 21st Century (Paperback)

Last month I was lucky enough to speak by telephone with Charles Coppes, the author of America's Financial Reckoning Day. I had a few investment-related questions for him and he was gracious enough to give me about 25 minutes of his time to answer them. During our conversation he told me that he believes the dollar will collapse this year. Now, I don't pretend to know enough about economics to tell you if his timing is correct. However, I do believe that what he is predicting will eventually happen, and that it may happen sooner than most Americans suspect it will. And when it does happen, it will change all of our lives, forever. You don't need any special insight to see (assuming that you are reading the news) that our government has over-stepped its authority, and that our liberties and our economy are being seriously threatened. The reason that I'm writing you this message is to encourage you to read his book, if you have not done so already. I simply cannot read this kind of information and not share it as a warning for my friends and family members to take action. His book is 326 pages long, but if you don't have the time to read it then I strongly suggest that you read a shorter version on the same topic in Larry Bates' book entitled, The New Economic Disorder. I read Larry's book in only about 5 hours. Both books are enlightening and very sobering, but Charles' book is more detailed and is a remarkable interwoven historical narrative on politics, banking, oil, economics, and theology for this current generation. I highly recommend it for anyone who is serious about knowing how we as a nation got to where we are, and what we as individuals should do to prepare spiritually (and economically) for end-time events. Read either book, but please do it now - this is NOT a drill! Both books are available from Amazon.com:

5.0 out of 5 stars The Indispensable One, November 3, 2010
This review is from: America's Financial Reckoning Day: How you can survive Americas monetary & political decline in the 21st Century (Paperback)
When Bear Stearns fell and crude oil passed $100 per barrel in early 2008, I started reading the top-rated books about America's money meltdown, 27 of them and counting. Mr. Coppes' book is the indispensable one.

"America's Financial Reckoning Day"(AFRD) is really three books in one. First, the bulk of the book is about history and economic developments. It has a broad range, much broader than other books, of topics and trends used to clearly illustrate the workings of America's quagmire. Yet despite such a broad scope, the reader is not overwhelmed or made to feel side-tracked. Instead Mr. Coppes has the ability to gather the nuggets of insight and key turning points, so that each topic is made clear and concise. The pace is quick, but effective. And there are plenty of references and footnotes should you want to drill down further on any of the subjects covered.

Secondly, AFRD is a book of spiritual hope. Most books on investing devote a chapter to the importance of emotional intelligence about money. Mr. Coppes explains the Christian perspective about money, power and prophecy with the same technique of using key points of insight and plenty of references. For some, Christian apologetics may be a paradigm shift. You can skip these parts because the rest of AFRD stands alone on its other merits. But for those interested, you will find the wisdom of the ages shedding light on the folly of financial intrigue.

Thirdly, AFRD is the best practical guide on how to protect your finances. No other book that I have found has the information needed for action that AFRD has. Where other books speak mostly in general terms, it appears that Mr. Coppes has opened up his rolodex, listed his favorite important websites and shown us his personal library, to an extent that others are not willing.

Mr. Coppes has a rare ability to synthesize knowlege and teach it in a way that is compelling for both beginner and expert. Albert Einstein said, "Things should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler." Mr. Coppes has done it. I reserve the highest rating for "America's Financial Reckoning Day."

About one year ago, I purchased your fine book, America's Financial Reckoning Day. At that point in time, you and I were on the outside of this financial bubble looking in. NOW, we are in the bubble which is just about to burst!
> Today, I began a reread of your excellent book and it makes so much more sense to me now. Once again, thank you for your outstanding book and the wise advice you are willing to provide to those of us who seek it.
