Product Description

A sweeping military space opera told in the grand satirical tradition of Catch-22...

One more roll – that’s all habitual gambler Joey Czerinski needs to get himself off Old Earth and away from the bad-ass loan shark hunting him down like a mongrel to be euthanized. But a sneaky ATM looking to fill its Foreign Legion new recruits quota has something else in mind for Mr. ‘Big Spender’ Czerinski. When he agrees out of desperation to take a loan from the crazy ATM, all bets are off.

War is hell, and hell comes knocking when it’s time for Czerinski to pay up. Forced into the Legion by the tricky ATM and an unscrupulous lawyer, Czerinski finds himself deeper in trouble than he’d ever imagined. But what’s one more roll for a perennial rule-bender? If Czerinski can survive what’s thrown at him amid galactic war against a spider-like enemy that could spell doom for the human race, maybe ... just maybe ... he’ll manage to come out alive in this grisly game of shoot-’em-up – if his luck holds out.

If you want something different, fresh but fun..this is it. I found the reviews down below to be true. This book is the equivalent to starship troopers the movie, mixed with a bit of low-brow humor and comedy. You feel guilty reading this, it seems so basic yet its so funny. I actually laughed out loud as well at the ridiculousness of it. Lets see, a loan shark named Bubba Jones? Yes its all downhill but its a fun ride.

You will laugh, and for the price you'll feel like you just saw Avatar at a matinee for 1 dollar!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Science Fiction and Military Science Fiction, September 6, 2010
This review is from: America's Galactic Foreign Legion - Book 1: Feeling Lucky (Kindle Edition)
As Legionnaire Joey R. Czerinski is being tortured and questioned while under the influence of truth serum he sings: "I'm Libyian, on a jet plane. Don't know when I'll be back again. ..." This book is a satirical spoof of modern times and quite an interesting read. I found some portions interesting, some portions maddening & best of all, some portions that made me laugh out loud! If you want a few hours of relief from the troubles of today, I recommend that you read this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly good., June 21, 2010

I bought this book on a whim as I was looking for some Military Sci-Fi and its getting hard for me to find anything new to read in the genre. I stumped across this and actually found it quite entertaining.

Be warned however it is written in a "and this is what happened next" kind of way. There is no style to it no depth, its very basic but I found it entertaining when I couldn't find anything else to read.
