This review is from: America's Great Disasters (Hardcover)
This was very well written, very entertaining. Has great photos as well. I can certainly recommend this to anyone! There are no gruesome pictures, by the way.

Brief but interesting read,

This review is from: America's Great Disasters (Hardcover)
This is a large format book with relatively brief chapters on a number of American disasters, including the Johnstown flood, the Galveston hurricane of 1900, and the explosion of the steamboat Sultana in 1865. It seems it may have been intended for young readers. Great photographs. The book itself I would only give three stars, but I give it four stars because of the detailed bibliography leading to other books about the specific disasters. I certainly learned some things I didn't know from this book. |
