I was fortunate enough to receive an advance copy of Dr. Oester and Dr. Gill's work, including their captured sounds (they come with the book). This is a fascinating and well-written look at various American historical events (such as Gettysburg), tied into the scientific method of spirit research. The combination makes for a compelling read for history buffs, ghost hunters, true-life ghost story fans, and those interested in the scientific side of ghost hunting alike. The authors even include information on how to best capture ghost voices, down to equipment details. Not stopping there, the pair counterbalance the rich histories with real recordings captured in their research (available via the web from the publisher). Turn down the lights, take a step through time, and enter this fascinating twilight world with these scientists.
