Bert's Analysis
Beyond that, there is no original content on this CD but rather a collection of previously broadcast radio show segments.

He documents his findings well and his heartfelt mannerisms connects well with America's heartland.

When I put this disc into my DVD player I was disappointed that it wasn't a video but only a audio disc. I realized that I should have read the product description more carefully. That was probably because I've never heard Glenn Beck's Radio Show--although I often enjoy his Fox News Cable Show. Once I realized my own mistake, I settled back onto my sofa, closed my tired eyes and began to listen to the hour or so of highlights from Beck's radio segment series about America's March to Socialism.
As anyone who has heard either his radio program or watched his cable television show knows, Glenn Beck has a wonderful way of explaining his points in easy-to-understand language complete with either audio or visual images to help illustrate what he is saying.
This reviewer was not disappointed. Glenn has something very important to convey to the American Public. This was an excellent sampling of Beck's beliefs. I still prefer to read his books over listening to this disc simply because I like to dog-ear pages, make notes on the book's pages and be able to stop and carefully consider and maybe question some of the points he is making. It's important to me to be able to back track. It's the same reason I still like to buy a newspaper and read about a sporting event that I either listened to or watched the day before. Sometimes it's important to be able to read the actual quotes. On radio or television, sometimes outrageous statements are made and then the event goes on and it's almost impossible to examine the truth of statements without missing out on the next scene of the rapidly unfolding event. And since the material isn't written, outrageous stuff simply gets forgotten as the live media coverage moves on.
Glenn always has something worthwhile to say and even if a person doesn't share his viewpoints, he will make
even his critics stop, question and think.

Gee, where to start???

The audio clip of Obama claiming that "Jim" from Caterpillar told him right before a stimulus request speech that if the stimulus passed, he'd be able to rehire some of the folks he'd just laid off (it took all of 11 MINUTES for Jim to say "Eh, I didn't really say that ... maybe in a while, if the economy gets better ...")? Oh, and right after it passed, the same plant in East Peoria, IL laid off ANOTHER 2450 workers ... so much for what Obama said.

[Of course, Obama also said in that speech that he sees this happening to companies all across this country. God forbid.]

Or maybe when Glenn sheds light on the fact that Enterprise Rent-A-Car is fighting the City of Chicago, who wants them to charge a tax on people WHO DON'T USE THEIR RENTAL CAR IN CHICAGO. Yep - taxation without representation. In Chicago. Who'd'a thunk?

Folks, ya just can't make this stuff up.

Glenn manages to make light of our country's downward spiral into socialism - but always manages to remind us of the seriousness of the consequences.

A great CD from a truly enlightened entertainer.

Are we witnessing the death of our American ideals? Glenn Beck is continually sounding the alarm and many people are listening. Beck offers a timely message day after day and one wonders what he will tell us next. Some do not like what he's saying, but I would suggest we, at least, listen to this courageous messenger and give him a chance. This offering provides us with a simple way of hearing his warnings.

Glenn has always struck me as "controversial" - he has awakened both myself and my wife into being a part of conservative political action instead of political couch potatoes. I have listened to his radio show for some time.

Glenn's speech and actions embrace the "Principle of Subsidiarity" - it is a teaching, strongly explicit in Christianity, that the individual is responsible for stewardship and love of neighbor - Not a government. Just one person being a great steward of his gifts one day at a time.

Before government largess, the Catholic Church ran and funded orphanages, unwed mother's home, hospitals, and schools based on the Principle of Subsidiarity. We are called to be stewards of our wealth - and Americans have generosity that sadly remains unrecognized by socialist progressives.

The audio CD is a great way to "listen and learn" while on that long drive to work.

America's March to Socialism is a great collection of Glenn Beck radio segments discussing America's March to Socialism. Unless you're a crazy leftist like the two previous reviewers, you'll find this content informative yet entertaining. Glenn Beck's Radio and TV programs are an appropriate fusion of entertainment and enlightenment, and this CD is no exception. Unless you're a Glenn Beck insider who not only has all of Glenn's past radio shows on their hard drive, properly organized, annotated, and indexed, with a playlist prepared that allows you to access this specific content from any computer, home audio system, car, or iPod, then this isn't just paying for free radio shows, as one previous commenter whined. This is informative, entertaining content which makes it more palatable to learn about the grim reality we're facing while enjoying many laughs. Well done, Glenn!
