Mr. Sullivan has created a marvelous book detailing with pictures, interviews, and his personal insights the first 50 years of one of, if not the, most significant sports franchises in our history. He is a sublimely capable researcher, writer, editor, and his efforts are equal to the vastness of his subject.

Opening this book releases a flood of memories for anyone who has ridden the roller coaster over the decades, come lately to this storied franchise or even is merely a casual fan of the legacy that is the Cowboys. Each picture, remark of a participant, discussion recalls so many more from the lore that could not be included or that is personal to each of us. Reviewing for example the "Hail Mary" or Clint Longley pass however encountered is to remember all the impressions of the event or its descriptions and the thrill or agony of the moment. Here are so many momentous events often portrayed in new perspectives such as Tony Dorsett's longest run in history which he said was not even his best run. Of course, long before these triumphs were the first of so many heartbreaks--the "Ice Bowl," "can't win the big one," and "`Next Year's Champion." All these are magnificently rendered here for which I am most grateful.

I think any sports fan would find this book remarkably enjoyable (and I have no bias).

I know there are many books on the Dallas Cowboys, I have read nearly all of them, but a book this huge that covers the teams first 50 years is certainly a must.

Mr. Sullivan did great job in covering 5 decades of America's Team. It also features some nice inserts inside such as Super Bowl tickets, game day program cards and letters. Spectacular pictures, stories on players that may not be household names and a nice chapter on the Dallas Cheerleaders. I'm already looking forward to Jeff's book on the first 75 years of America's Team !

Again, I hate the Cowgirlz but this was a gift to my husband on behalf of his kids. The book is awesome in terms of the number of photos, black & white and color, the personal pull-out-items like letters to Jerry Jones from Gov. George Bush and the owner of the N.Y.Yankees...other pull-out-items include replicas of old ticket stubbs and programs. The pull-out-items are protected by plastic see-through envelopes.

The key player profiles are nicely done. Each superbowl has it's own unique section. This book is worth $50 easily and not $30. Now I need to look to see if a book exists like this for the San Fran 49ers for myself. Do not get the Sports Illustrated version. I got it b/c I couldn't decide between the books online and it was only $20. Well it should have been free. But like I said this one, America's Team: The Authorized history was worth $50 so it evened out.

This was purchased for me as a Christmas gift. I was expecting the usual surface-skimming history that most of the books of this type yield. This is much different. Even stories I'd heard before contained details and facts I was unaware of. The players quotes are better than any I've seen even in newspapers or online; not the usual shallow type.
I'm very glad they don't sell it by the pound -it feels much heavier than the advertised 5.6 lbs. Wow!! I had to go to the gym and lift weights just to prepare myself to pick it up and read it.
If you are a long-time fan (how 'bout since 1965) or you have just discovered the Cowboys, you'll enjoy this book.

This book is amazing, from the large fold-out photos to the special surprises hidden throughout the book. Jeff Sullivan has done a remarkable job capturing the history of the Dallas Cowboys. His narrative shows that he has researched and understands both the importance of this team in foodball history and the personalities that have made it one of the greatest franchises in sports. This book is extremely well written and a pleasure to read. The layout, story progressions and content make this a winner. Football fans in general and Cowboys fans in particular should have this book in their collection. I highly recommend this publication.

My grandson is a huge Dallas Cowboy fan. He loved the book, expecially the special reproductions of tickets and other memorabilia tucked in the pages. Because of the special features, I wouldn't recommend downloading. Buy the book for your Cowboy fan.

Great book and very interesting to read. It doesn't just explain all the facts of when they were on the upside, but also their all-time lows. This book is great if interested in learning in the history of the Dallas Cowboys. It has facts, artifacts, pictures, biographies, interviews, and other miscellaneous items that you wouldn't think of. This book is a hardcover and very top quality of material so you won't have to worry on the book falling apart. And yes I did purchase this book from AMAZON. Another "W" for this great online company.
