I like the simplified receipes and cooking tips that produce good food. The explanation of the science behind certain processes or the illustrations of where certain cuts of meat come from add a kind of "Alton Brown" to the program. The product evaluations are interesting. I can do without the quirky costumes though!

Seriously, this is not a series for those who are cooking on an instant ramen budget (fast and cheap). There are ingredients used that, while good, are either expensive or rare = you would have to use them extensively to make them worth the cost.
The tips on cooking things with an oven and stove for the same dish --> work, already tried them, but they do require spending more time and money on your energy bill.
