I used these pens to draw on marshmallows, and they worked perfectly!
Jenna S.
They worked very well, and I only had to wipe the pen off once or twice while drawing 20 faces.

After buying similar food markers from local stores to decorate cake pops (wasted $$ - I ended up piping black frosting to decorate), I was wary buying these. Since my initial purchase, I have since bought the multi-color set twice and these even more times than that! They really work!

These markers decorate batches of cake pops without stopping. The other ones ... I could maybe finish two individual pops before the markers clogged up. I use three different brands of candy melts and have never had problems with any. A homeschool co-op class borrowed a set to decorate marshmallow Lego pops for a special treat, and they worked well for me after 15, 5-8 year olds used them (and not carefully - like any kid colors). Well worth the money!

I've used several different brands of these pens, none are great, however these are the best I've found. It helps to wipe off the tip every so often with a paper towel, and also to use brush strokes rather than pressing down hard like writing with a pen.

I bought a set on amazon. One pen worked (barely) and the other didn't work at all. They sent me a replacement that works a little better. I've found that storing them upside down definitely helps. First few uses gave a very fine writing but after a few uses, the tip kind of softens and I've been getting much thicker writing, with little or no pressure at all. Still the best food markers I've used as of yet.

I used these on Wilton Chocolate Melts when I made Marshmallow pops. I didn't have any problems writing with them. A handy tool if you plan on doing a lot of decorating of treats.

These are the first food markers that I have purchased, but they work exactly like you would expect. The tip was defined enough for me to easily write numbers and provide a nice deep black color. I was using it to make tick marks on a fondant tape measure for a sewing themed cake. While this was the simplest component of the cake it easily provided for the biggest "wow" factor with people. I would highly recommend these to people getting stated in cake/cookie decorating as it opens up lots of new possibilities.

I love, love, love these. I got them as a gift years ago. I find them as an invaluable tool when I decorate cakes with fondant and custom cookies.

i ordered these Food Writers and I can't get them to write on my chocolate. I see people use them on cake pops all the time. I have invested in these on several occasions and I still can't get them to work. =(

The idea is fantastic. And these markers do write great on a cake surface as soon as it's non-greasy. I decorated marshmallows dipped in yellow Wilton Candy Melts which had a little bit (1tbsp per 12oz coating) of palm oil in it and it was enough for these markers to stop writing (they still write well on, say, paper and I will try them again on an oil free coatings). They left a diluted trace instead of saturated marker trace, and the kids were fascinated with their Lego minifig marshmallow head but I am not completely happy.

I am convinced that if not for the oil they would have worked for my project but there was no warning about greasy surfaces... So, next time I am planning to purchase the tiniest decorating tip with an ol' plain royal frosting tinted with black...
