Works Great - Very Loud,

I recently purchased this little unit and it works very well. You are able to control both the volume and the tone so that you can remove any "hiss" from the higher frequencies. It is very loud when cranked up. It has a boost function which is even louder - but I haven't even needed to try it. The battery is voice activated to save energy. Runs on an ordinary 9v battery. The only thing I would have liked better is if it was the color black instead of white.

Fantastic product!,

Bought this for my boss who uses 2 hearing aids. He absolutely loves it and it does not interfere with his hearing aids. The volume control is excellent and you don't need to use it on the highest setting it is so powerful. You can also adjust it to accomodate the pitch of different voices. Would highly recommend this product for those who cannot hear well.

Didn't Work For Me,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Ameriphone HA40 In-Line Telephone Handset Amplifier (Office Product)
There are a lot of 5-star reviews for this product, but it didn't work for me. My wife is very hard of hearing. We have one Clarity phone with bass boost, and she loves it. So, I thought I'd try this amplifier instead of buying another amplified phone system. This way we could use it at home and easily take it with us if we traveled anywhere. There was incredibly loud feedback when the phone was first answered. That could have been due to our DSL line, but with/without phone filter, it didn't work. Also, in order to use the "boost" function, the button has to be pushed and held down while listening and then released when talking. It eliminates background noise by shutting down the telephone microphone, so the hard of hearing person has to keep their thumb on the boost button--press, release, press, release--throughout the telephone conversation. Kudos to Amazon for their return policy.
