This really does set up in seconds. Taking it down is almost as quick. I use it for photographing wildlife so I put my gear on the ground, pop it open and set it over the gear, get inside and pin it down. I feel that the less I'm seen, the better. The only complaint is the cheesy carry handles. I cart my gear in a backback and the handles just won't do. I attached a nice padded strap which I can adjust to slide over my shoulder or sling across my chest. It's much easier to carry now. I even put a collapsible chair in the pack too!

I purchased this blind for my nature photography. My goal was to have a tripod, 400mm lens, camera, and a chair inside the blind for concealed shooting.
The blind is lightweight and can be carried easily. The shoulder straps for putting it on your back are nice, but preclude a backpack for camera items. It can be attached to another backpack but the whole thing is a little awkward for hiking to a good spot in the woods as it is rather wide, even when folded up. Set up is very easy and takes just seconds. The blind's light weight works against it in any kind of breeze. Even with 8 stakes and rocks in the four corners, it is unsteady in a breeze. With $10,000 worth of camera equipment inside, even on a tripod, I was too nervous to keep it up unless the air is almost still. The blind is dark inside and the black walls are great for keeping any motion inside undetected. The swaying in the breeze of the whole unit, however, can spook some creatures. I will try later to set this up in an area sheltered from breezes to see if it can fill my need. To be sheltered and still have an unobstructed view for the camera will be the big challenge.

Ameristep Outhouse Blind - Awesome.,

I got my first from ameristep a few years ago - simple to use, lightweight, plenty of room for me and my gear and huge windows. I left it in the same spot for the last 4 years in horrible conditions and only a couple of the zippers stick a little. I have since bought 3 more and have used them for the least expensive, most durable ground blinds i have used. Killed 3 shooter bucks in less than one hour with none of them having a clue where the shots have come from and 2 were less than 50 yards. Used it this year for the first time with my Buck Commander Crossbow and my Winchester shooting stick from an over sized folding chair and only had to "sit up" to easily shoot out of the front and left windows... perfect weight, perfect size. Little tighter when taking my daughter with me but certainly usable. Excellent buy!

Light, versatile bow blind,
This review is from: Ameristep Outhouse Blind (Sports)
I have used this blind for elk, deer, bear, coyote, and cougar hunting. All of the above have walked right in on me. I typically put it up against a tree or large rock and close the window facing the obstruction. I then have a good view of whats out front. It is relatively high, so you can use a traditional recurve or long bow. Using a modern compound is a breeze. Windows open quietly. Material is a bit shiny but doesn't seem to bother the animals. For bow hunting it is better for one person than two, but two can rifle hunt in comfort. What sets it apart is its light weight and easy portability. I have other heavier blinds, and always use this one if I have to hoof it a long ways. The other great feature is that you can set it up in a lot more places than a larger blind. In rough hilly or mountainous country you may only find a relatively small level area, and this blind will go up while a larger one just won't sit there. Overall, a really great blind. The new 'tangle 2.0 camo is excellent in rocky country.

Great little one man blind for deer or ducks. It sets up in a snap, about 3 seconds, and the windows are generous. It's light weight to carry and is very useful for when you come across that "perfect spot" to hunt, or if you're out in new territory for the day. It is not the best on a windy day although it does come with ground stakes and tiedowns (bring extra rope with you and better stakes, as what they supply is minimal), and the fold up and repack into the bag takes some practice. Do that part at home a few times to get the hang of it before you go out, or you will be frustrated when it's time to pack up in the woods. Overall it works quite well and I use it a lot.

Awesome blind,

My husband can no longer hunt in tree stands due to having both hips replaced. He got one of these for Christmas 3 years ago and now will not hunt in anything else. He and my son hunt comfortably together in one, they use it for hunting everything. They have had deer walk right up on them and turkey come right up to the blind, birds have actually perched on the open window. It helps keep you warm in the cold, dry in the rain and virtually unseen by wildlife.

Easy to open. Easier to close. Open area inside and wheelchair accesable (if needed). I would recomend this Blind for all types of shooters, Shotgun, Rifle, Bow and Crossbow. Plenty of room. Can't go wrong for $50.00. Wal-Mart sells a smaller one for $60.00 and it is not half as good.

I am a photographer and love this Blind. The height is perfect, you can unzip the upper part to stand and take photos, easy to put up and take down. This will fit in tight spots. You will have to stake this one in light wind, this is a light weight blind which is perfect for me. I would highly recommend this Blind.

It is low cost, easy to set up and easy to take down. Have hunted out of it several times and I am happy with it. I did go to Wal-mart and invest in a set of heavy plastic tent stakes @ $3.50. They work much better than the metal stakes provided. I am 6'3, 225 lbs and there is adequate room for me.
