4.0 out of 5 stars 55 gallon aquarium stand
This ia a nice sized product with a decent amount of storage space, and it looks nice. The size is good. 1.0 out of 5 stars Physically holds an aquarium... but made of cheap cardboard.
The pieces where chipped when i opened the box, and as i put it together, i found out the door panels were merely glued on and they popped right off! However, customer service must realize how crappy their product is because they were very accommodating with sending out replacements. It does look nice from afar, and just like in the picture, but i really am not joking...

This ia a nice sized product with a decent amount of storage space, and it looks nice. The size is good. The main negatives are that it came with several scratches, takes over an hour to put together and, most importantly, if it gets any water on it that doesn't get wiped off very quickly, there will be a slight amount of bubble damage at the surface (not a great quality for an aquarium stand). However, if aware of this and careful to clean up quickly, it isn't a major problem, and the scratches were easily covered with a mood marker pen.

Overall, it is a good product for the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Stand That Stands Up, April 26, 2010

This is a nice looking, sturdy stand. Perfect for the purpose. Accepting the fact that this item is being shipped to me I accepted the reality that the box would have to withstand some man-handling. Upon arrival the box was in good shape. I guess this item is too heavy to throw around; helps to have another person to move it into the house. The only issue that I have with the product is its packaging. The top board showed some wear on its surface. Looks like friction wore an inch of the wood stain off. I touched it up but an aquarium will be covering this spot so it isn't a huge deal. One other board had a nick in it but the section with the blemish is concealed by another board. Bottom line: I would recommend this stand. It's easy to put together, and it looks great.

The pieces where chipped when i opened the box, and as i put it together, i found out the door panels were merely glued on and they popped right off! However, customer service must realize how crappy their product is because they were very accommodating with sending out replacements. It does look nice from afar, and just like in the picture, but i really am not joking when i say that it is made of material just slightly more sturdy than cardboard. I would NOT recommend it at all. And i certainly wouldn't pay more than $50 as it does technically hold up an aquarium.

Update: 11/15/11 So i never actually put on the new doors they shipped to me figuring i ultimately didn't care how crappy it looked. Now i am trying to sell my aquarium and all this accessories so i went to open up the box with the new doors and to my dismay the new doors are in the exact same condition as my original! The little vertical panels are practically falling off with the glue plainly visible! This company obviously takes produces crap.

1.0 out of 5 stars "Ameriwood" Simply Not Wood., September 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Ameriwood 55-Gallon Aquarium Stand (Kitchen)
Not only is this "Ameriwood" product not wood-it's not even wood veneer. Apart from the cabinet doors, it's chips glued together and covered with chintzy looking plastic false wood-grain. The "wood" in the name must refer to "wood" chips. It arrived with even the plastic coating chipped, exposing the chip interior of the boards. I ordered it from Stacks and Stacks, who ignored my two emails requesting a return. Sending out wood-chip boards (which by nature deteriorate when wet, ask any carpenter) for an aquarium stand (which, by the nature of its function, increases the likelihood of the stand getting at least somewhat damp eventually, during cleanings), especially when the water-repelling outer covering is chipped, is not only not aesthetic but dangerous to people and property. I advise against this purchase in general, and very strongly against this purchase from Stacks and Stacks. If you have your heart set on this product, please take my advise and buy it from a vendor other than Stacks and Stacks, since other customers have said that although the stand itself arrived in poor quality, other vendors were more accommodating regarding their grievances.

Overall I am happy. 2 parts were broken when I received it but I called and they sent me the parts to replace the broken ones.

I find it very sturdy and looks great in my room!

5.0 out of 5 stars 55 gallon aquarium stand, February 17, 2012

This stand certainly comments the fish tank. The stand we had before was wobbly and unstable. There is a little time involved in putting it together, but the finished product is gorgeous! Love the stand!

I should have read the reviews before buying this product! Two of the pieces were cracked and one was scratched at the corner. We had to put it together in spite of the damage so that we could put the fish in the fish tank that we had just purchased, and it took over an hour to assemble. The top has a slightly bubbled surface, which is unattractive. We will have to mask the damage with putty and paint so that it is presentable. Should be sold for half the cost on this site for the quality.

The assembly for this aquarium stand was a bit more involved than the Seller described for this product, but other than that it was a good value for a big, attractive piece of furniture.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality, but nice design., February 22, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Ameriwood 55-Gallon Aquarium Stand (Kitchen)
This cabinet has a good looking design, but should not be used for aquariums. When we set up the aquarium, a little water dripped onto the top. I wiped it up when we were finished filling the aquarium, but it was too late. the partical board had already started bubbling. I would not recommend this for this use.
