Item is made from cheap materials. Pressed sawdust shelves, side panels and a cardboard back. The joint between the two halves weak. When assembled and stood up it's wobbly. Unit must be bottom loaded.

I agree with the previous reviewer. This looks like other media storage units, but it is cheaply made. The "dowels" that are supposed to anchor the shelves of the lower half (to stabilize the unit) are made of a brittle plastic that shatters with any pressure (since you have to press the shelf and the outer panels together with the dowels holding them together, it means certain disaster). The result is that I now have to explore ways of drilling out the areas where the dowels broke, and then buy wooden dowels that hopefully will anchor the unit and not just rip a hole in the "wood" (sawdust is closer to reality here). In addition, as you work on the unit you notice that there are wood particles everywhere, as the parts shed constantly. Other parts (including anchors) are made of cheap plastic, and are very difficult to install properly. In short, this unit is inadequately designed and constructed, and will not fulfill its function properly. Spend a bit more money and get a better quality unit.

Great storage unit, fits into a small space as it is tall and narrow. However, in order to store DVDs you need to remove two of the shelves. I was counting on these two extra shelves for DVD storage since the descrption mentioned how many the unit could hold and as such, I don't have quite enough room for my collection. Otherwise, great product.

I think they will serve my purpose fine but the vinyl finish is easily pealed back so be careful.

For assemble yourself furniture, this was easy to build and looks OK. I would not put it in the living room, but I needed a narrow cabinet for my basement storage area and this one did the trick perfectly. As is usual with do it yourself furniture, they went cheap on the back pieces and they are made of cardboard.

Plenty of shelves and flexible placement options mean I could fill it with CDs... if using taller DVDs or videotapes, you may have a shelf left over.

This is great storage shelf for it's price. It met my need perfectly. I used it in a closet so it's looks was not an issue.

Just received this item, and it's not as pictured: I was sent a solid-black unit that does not look like the photograph on the product page.

I can't find any information on the product page that would have warned me I would be receiving a big black shelf unit instead of the wood-toned product I thought I bought.

Not sure whether to return it or live with it ... or put it somewhere I don't have to look at.

Disappointed buyer.
